Its breaking out!!! The whale removed the wall!!! Moooon Time!!!!!

I honestly don't think SafeX will have the stamina for the long run and I tell you why: very small team with only two developers (way too few for the enormous ambitions they have); they have been flimsy in the past when I think about the delayed wallet release (which feels only half baked imho because I wasn't even able to back it up); and finally: there is basically no activity in their official GitHub. To actually believe in a project - provided they haven an official GitHub - there has to be a lot of activity from more than two developers. Just go ahead and compare SafeX to Status Nework Token for example. Or IOTA. There is a lot of recent activity.

All this made me reconsider my investment.

Iota market cap 2,4 billion. Safex 24 million. Its like comparing the Staff of a indie developer Vs blizzard. The value of this indie coin is low, and we invest in it hoping it will gain momentun with time

First of all: And I'm not here to hate a coin. I just registered because I thought I want to share what I came to believe after researching. I might be wrong and I sincerely hope that you guys make a lot of money out of it but I just can't see it.

Regarding my comparison: I totally get that. But in order to make that happen it needs more maintenance as it seems to be getting right now. Maybe IOTA was comparing apples with oranges in terms of its market cap. But I'm fairly certain that there were more commits to IOTA when it was at the point Safex is right now. Or as I said: compare it to SNT's activity and commits an GitHub. And saying that the activity on Git doesn't necessarily reflect the actual progress in the project makes me wonder why there even is an official GitHub. I'm really sorry but it just seems a little bit shady to me.

I could see that happening. He's more worried about the aesthetics over it's internal functioning. I guess the new wallet dev we had to wait an extra month for didn't actually work on it's programming just it's design.

We've addressed several of the usability issues in the upcoming release https://safe.exchange/t/safex-ui-updates-coming-soon-preview-here-august-22-2017/1545

But there is no loss of coins, just Bitcoin Network congestion.

Custom wallets are MUCH more complex than civilians think...
It's not like copy pasta a bulletproof Blackcoin wallet like every fucking scammer does.

Dunno, I see a high profile Dev with a long term project who posts proper Youtube videos...
And a $26 million cap after a big Pump followed by a big Dump...
As a swing trader since April my SAFEX position cost is < zero.

And yes, the Bitcoin network is congested + ridiculous fees...
Anyone that would send an OMNI tx right now is clueless.

Hey there,

Our wallet is under maintenance because of launching 0.0.2 version of it. Everything will be up and running pretty soon Smiley. If you have any problem with your wallet, it's because of a downtime.

https://safe.exchange/t/safex-development-update-safex-wallet-v2-release-august-27th-2017/1667

Greetings everyone,

Version 0.0.2 is out now! You just need to discontinue use of the previous version; and open up and login to the new version, nothing beyond that.
Check out safex.io or
https://github.com/safex/safex_wallet/releases/tag/0.0.2

for downloads.

This has been a great week for us. It’s been a great pleasure taking in feedback from the community to make the wallet an experience that we hope you’ll enjoy very much. Also make it user friendly to the new comers.

We got hit with a stormy week on the Bitcoin network and many transactions were stuck because of a malfunction in the fee recommendation provided by the application. We’ve addressed that in the new release.

More info on that can be found in my post here: Bitcoin Mem Pool issues August 25, 2017

The new wallet can be found on the new releases:
https://github.com/safex/safex_wallet/releases/tag/0.0.2

In this release we addressed the significant usability issues. The order in which requests are made have been made more logical towards the perspective of a user. From now on the application must connect to the nodes, confirming that, it fetches the most important data first. Then it populates balances and unlocks the ability to make transactions.

There is additional support for indication where a transaction is dispatched and awaiting a reply. If there is some issue there is a notification. Additionally, there is a refresh button. The application will require that the user manually refresh the application to check their wallet. This is to reduce server load, and it is limited to one refresh per three minutes.

Additionally, there is a password change in a settings cog, as well as exporting unencrypted keys, exporting an encrypted safexwallet.dat file, as well as a logout button.

Finally, there is the ability for completely deleting the wallet that is stored at the core. It will allow the user a chance to back up encrypted and unencrypted versions of their wallet before finishing off with deleting the old wallet making room for a new wallet file to be created.

If there is any feedback or support requirements refer to the forum and the support category:

https://safe.exchange/c/support

In the week ahead, we will continue with reinstating the safex.io1 coin vending application as well as the updated information regarding Safex related to Chille, the FAQ, and the story behind Why we started Safex in the first place.

Furthermore, since last Saturday we’ve begun to discuss the future from the perspective of economics. With the wallet in a condition that I hope is usable to all of you, and pleasant, we will be able to dive fully into Chille development.

Sincerely,
Safex Developers

Safex exists inside the Bitcoin Blockchain at this time. So you have to pay a bitcoin fee, and since the transaction size is larger than a standard bitcoin transaction, it's fee is commensurate.
