What happened: I traded with this guy with confidence because he does not fit the profile of a scammer.

After sending me a private message in response to my thread post, he suggested that we go to Skype due to my limits on sending private messages here.

I went first, sending him my bitcoin, out of respect to his status as a hero member and even upped the amount of bitcoin that I wanted to trade (0.40BTC for $200) .

But even though it was gone from my end, he said he wanted to wait for 3 confirmations, which took longer than the standard 30 minutes because I'd applied the minimum fee. At that point there was just 1 confirmation.

Then he said he had to go out and be gone for 3 hours. He promised on his return, he'd send the agreed amount by Paypal. I returned 4 hours later and he was still shown as away and I was getting no replies to him on Skype. There was no payment to my Paypal.

Almost 12 hours later, still getting no reply from him on Skype, and still believing this is just a misunderstanding I wanted to give him a chance to explain to me what was happening as I saw he had been active here on this site in recent minutes (although his status is showing as offline here too)

Surprise, surprise, he has blocked my private messages.

And there are probably going to be several other scam reports about this member as he's clearly been taking forum members to the cleaners today.

Additional Notes: Allowing scammers to buy and sell accounts makes a mockery of the Hero Member system. He'll be back with another Hero Member account.

There's no "hero member system" but your point about account sales is well taken.  Sorry you and the other guy got scammed from this asshole.

Thanks,

He's been discrediting the OP of the other scam thread, trying to deny his skype id, saying he hasn't sent any pms since the 17th.

if you deal with someone one skype that claims to be someone here, ask for a PM. Otherwise there is no proof the guy on skype is the member from here.

Because of the trust system, because of naivety,  because trusted accounts can be used pretty effectively for scamming.

Low Life.
Its a waste of account though, he could have earned more than $200 with his Hero account.  Getting to become a Hero is not joke as you have to spend a lot of time here in the forum. Hope everyone get to paint his account in red.

Heres how I think the scam works, the accounts password is most likely compromised by a hacker... hacker sends message to victim to speak on skype then deletes messages from unsuspected heros account..(hacker doesnt change the pass just uses it to scam) I mean thats all I could think of right now, unless hes really gonna waste a hero account on that.. like the guy  mentioned above it being wortharound  200$

Maybe admins on here should implement a monthly passrenewal before signing in , to stop these from happening

Yes a lot of people reuse passwords on different sites.
But in this case he is denying everything and saying he did not even send the PMs.
And he got blocked. A hacked account would not care about someone pming him I think.

He did pm me here on Bitcointalk first, and in his 3rd message to me gave me his Skype details here via the private message system.  Not the other way round.  Although now he denies that happened.  But I'm happy to give one of the moderators my log in details so they can see my inbox, with his messages, especially if that assists the OP of the other thread about this thief.  While he's claiming that we are fabricating evidence, he's continuing to build his portfolio of victims here.

Yeah the hacker deleted the messages on heros account. Basically confusing both hero account owner and buyer. Either way bad news for both sides

As for me tagging:
Two scam accusations against this Hero member now, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1379681.0

Still no neg rep from ANY DT1 or 2... this proves CLEARLY that the system doesn't work with the trust abusers currently in DT1 and 2.

Enough said.
Well I'm following the opinion of you trolls, can't speak for others

From my conversation with the other active "scam busters" , we might not be tagging anyone for a week based solely on suspicion when the other person disagrees with the negative rating.

Edit: Although none expect as much as a thanks for the "job" , least you can do is not offer a "fuck you" when tagging.

You guys really think he is going to sell his account for 50 bucks?
Eso is a well respected Digibyte dev from the beginning and me and allot of others can confirm he is not a scammer at all.

This whole story is complete bullshit and i really dont get why this is started, The only thing eso is doing on btctalk is supporting the Digibyte community and helping others out when there is a problem.

fucking 50 bucks for a account with allot of reputation and information.... C'mon can't you do better then this?

And besides all this BS, Look back at posts from eso @ the dgb forum and you can clearly see he has a whole other way of communication and he can speak proper ENG.

So mod, We can shut this down now?

@mexxer-2 , I am much disappointed by your way of troll, yes this is troll that you are now waiting for days to tag people like people make list of act that they do on weekends.
Really pathetic, I have been following you since you were FM and I was happy that someone is vigil here on forum , but all I feel now is vain.

Though, 24hralttrade this guy favors the eco saying my words are BS , and accuser did not offered me a 0.13 btc offer , let's make things simpler , if you have guts I can clarify al things ,just deposit 1 btc (we each) to escrow address and escrow takes my account and the one who is right he takes off 1.5 btc , escrow get 0.5 btc.
If you don't have guts to do that , don't quote my posts.
