Nano changed to PoW means the zero fee for all transactions failed.

Must have some cost for tx, fees, computation or other form.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

According to Medium article (linked above) "Pow significantly increases the cost of flooding the network with spam transactions, without effecting the average user."

The team explained the POW in details how it works so it is good to read this to understand about the recent changes. I hope this will put positive impact on the growth of this coin.

What a strange question from a senior member. As you (hopefully) know, if you lost your private key, you lost your funds. You can create as many new wallets as you like, you won't recover anything.

No need to apologize;) I was surprised that a member present here for several years still asks this kind of question. We learn every day, however!

I hope you have not lost much, or even that you will find your key somewhere Wink

It could be that some forum posters here in Bitcointalk don't venture out much into the other subsections of the forum. Many only know the ann threads of the coins they are holding. I'm guilty of that in the early months but I come to understand all about distributed ledgers in due time.

not too much trouble just limited to asking because I really do not understand it and for the lost wallet is also not too concerned about it because it was my mistake that did not back up the wallet in a safe place, thank you for your attention sorry if there are mistakes

All of us make mistakes. In fact you are quite lucky that it was not that large of a value to lose. It will serve as a reminder to you that you should never lose your private keys. Be glad you are not this guy.

OMG! I was so outdated about this coin. From XRB to NANO? I stopped following this cause of lack of knowledge when I'm starting here in forum way back 2016. I still remember that I joined the job on claiming faucets and being paid for the number of claims we've done provided by a unique address. Also I do have a desktop XRB wallet app before in my old laptop until its broken. But I still have the hardisk, I don't know if I can still recover those XRB on the disk.

Too bad you have not been more aware of the evolution of Nano, and its price ! At the end of 2017, it has risen to more than $ 30!

I wish you to get your nanos back anyway Smiley

Can anyone here help me to recover the XRB in my old external hard drive?

these are the 3 drives, I don't know where the data of desktop wallet app belongs

and here are the contents each of them:

As you can see its empty: Any idea what's going on here, maybe corrupted?

Local Disk (E:)

Local Disk (F:)

Where could be the data?

Looks like Windows. First, google "windows show hidden files" and then go to C:\Users\%yourusername%\AppData\Local\nano-wallet-desktop\
In your case, it must be in E:\Users\ FYI, this should have been at least basic knowledge for a crypto enthusiast because most wallets reside in this folder.

No, it can't be "NANO" because it used to be "XRB" or "Raiblocks" back then. @Text, I'd recommend you to contact Nano's Discord support (https://chat.nano.org/) regarding your issue/confusion, they've got an excellent community management team and you'll probably be able to find a solution in that Discord channel.

Depends on the wallet version. It should be in Local and than Raiblocks. Search %appdata% in searchbar and go to the folder. Than if you have a old wallet u see alot of files including wallet.dat, a few backups and the blockchain (partial synched).

Thank you, I joined now their discord server and posted about my querry. Got responses but still waiting for the answers that can solve my problem.

I'll try to search that later, that may could help to show the files content in System Reserved (D). Hope it'll work.

This is what I found in Local disk (:E)

But I don't see the wallet.dat

Thank you mates for the helps by the way, much appreciated.

I think the back up file for xrb/nano is not format .dat, but use format .json
but if you save the backup seed (64 character), you can import in any wallet.
