It depends on the cloudmining site. There are legit cloudmining sites which actually has a mining farm and there are those who claim that they are a cloud mining service which has a mining farm when in fact they are only another kind of ponzi scheme. Did you get my point? If you want to invest in such then please be carefull and always make a research about their backgroud. Be sure that they are offering a real service because once you fall from those ponzi traps then say goodbye to your coins already. IMO cloudmining is no longer profitable at this moment btw.

#Agreed with the quoted statement# Most of the scammers use the word "cloud mining" as a service to scam away a huge amount of btc from investors.(Scrypt.cc is the best example where users lost many ghs as their investments and scrypt.cc staffs said it was a hack). There is hardly any cloudmining sites but at the moment hashnet is legit.

it differs from service to service. but most of the cloudmining services are just ponzi schemes in disguise. if you want to invest in any of them you should do some search to see if they have any announcement thread on this forum, see if there is any valid feedback and if they have ever provided any proof of owning any mining equipment.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip. Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Some are scam, fake clound mining. But some others are real but pay less than nothing.
You invest a lot of money and see it back maybe in some years, and there is always the possibilite to don't see your money anymore, because the site can crash too, it's a real possibilite.

Only those that have something to back in regards to the whole process are real which in 95% of cloud mining brands the opposite and they pop out from time to time just to suck your wallet funds. Also if you know how to check their websites for proof, errors would be good and possibly save you from their scams. Right now, I only think there's 2 that are legit and the rest, it's matter of time before they run with everyone's money.

If you want to mine without buying hardware, rent a rig or buy hash power directly from services which give you total control over the mining so you can point it towards whichever pool or coin network you wish to.
The vast majority of 'cloud mining' sites which simply ask you for money and offer a return over time, without you doing anything else, are nothing but ponzi scams.
Check out the 'Cloud Mining 101' ponzi thread for more info.

Very, very few. It's an absolutely perfect setup for a ponzi. I'd never do it but there are some who seem to be straight. Research your ass off using this forum.

The sites where you can point the miners to mine with pools or addresses of your choice are legitimate (and won't make you money).
The sites where you can't do that are ponzis (and won't make you money).

There have been a few cloud mining scams uncovered over the past year or two, but overall Cloud mining is real and concept will give you opportunity to earn passively. But you need to select trusted and reputed provider to avoid any possible scam.
Which part of, "They are mostly Ponzi scams" is hard for you to understand? It is this notion of wanting to 'earn passively' which is at the crux of the scam. You want to send money to a service which will promise that it is mining and that you will earn a profit. It simply doesn't happen. Either you mine with actual hardware, rented hardware or hash, or you are simply sending money to a ponzi scheme which doesn't actually mine at all but pinky-promises you that it does.

new cloud mining [ investment ] websites are coming
they usually are not legitimate businesses and 99% of the time these new (or even the old ones) that you see around are just Ponzi schemes trying to scam people by releasing some fake data about their program. does any company can mine like this ?
theoretically they can mine this way, you know like gathering investment then buying hash power or mining equipment and sharing the profit with the investors. but in order to profit they need good portion of hash power and cheap electricity.

As my experience and review some cloudmining website before are legit but there's no proof that they are mining in real life. And you will see more fake image that you can see that they are mining even it is not true.. I also experience to be scam from old cloud mining site(script.cc) that i invested around 0.15 btc but i can't withdraw all my balance stuck in that site.. Until now never withdraw it.. So i suggest to all newbie like you to don't expect that you can make money to invest your money in any cloud mining site. you will lose your money and its a waste of time.. its better to claim in any faucet than investing money for nothing..

There is a third category, those which can superficially pass the sniff tests outlined a while ago in the 101 guidance thread, but are still a bad investment because their business plan is unsustainable. These are outfits that are mining, can show stats and pictures, but are "fractional reserve" mining, which is hard to estimate because they will keep selling hashrate beyond that which they actually have. As most cloudminers have clauses which allow them to vary repayments for various reasons, a set up like this can be a slow burning Ponzi (i.e. using new investment to repay old) and last for a considerable time. "All cloudmining is a scam"? No, but it's a good default approach to take when giving a lump sum of money with only a promise of a return, and no form of redress or exit if those promises aren't met.

I would not trust my cash to any cloud mine. Most of them are just pretty web pages, colorfull adds, overpriced shares nothing more. 90% turn to scam if not more and some of them start as hoax. Just skip that part of the BTCitcoin world. It stoped being profitable looooong ago.

The majority of sites that claim cloud mining will rip you off, there are a few that are real but return on your investment will take a long time and you may be better off renting your hash and mining directly.
Before you invest in anything have a little search around and research the site.

what you told is absolutely right, their is no cloud mining sites which are giving you high returns in the end they will surely scam until their target is not achieved. and even if their are some good mining sites but their return will be very high. And even doing mining itself is also not recommendable as it will be very costly and it will also wont be in profit. It is better to do trading atleast you will earn good.
