Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

This question has been asked every single week in this forum and I don't know why you guys kept asking the same question which will have the same answers! Bitcoin price is not falling. If you could look at the 1 year long term movement of the btc price chart bitcoin is not falling. The price has been stable at around $400 - $450 for quite some time now. Don't look at the weekly changes as you will only see it fall every weekend. It's weekend! People gets to rest in trading during weekend so expect some fall during these days!

Thats the nature of the bitcoins technology. No one can predict what will happen exactly with the price. Tommorrow it might touch the value of $450. For this decrease also few might got panic.

Because people are willing to sell at relatively lower and lower prices and other people are happy to buy at those prices.

it's called market activity... no use asking questions unless the price crashes or jumps by 20%. even then the answer you'll get are merely speculations.

I do not know why, but I feel there is some relationship between it going down and ETH going up. Is like some money from BTC was going to ETH.

The government and IBM are not interested in Bitcoin but in the technology behind it - the Blockchain. And they cant just outlaw Bitcoin out of thin air as it's not illegitimate in the slightest. The Bitcoin payment processors and exchanges may get regulated but that's not such a big pain in the butt to deal with anyways. The point at which digital bitcoins enter the physical world will be legalized Smiley I don't know why everyone is panicking like the sky is falling down or something Smiley

IBM is not using the Bitcoin blockchain, or even the blockchain. It is using a blockchain variant.

why is it that when bitcoin goes up >$50 nobody cheers up and says why is bitcoin going up but whenever there is a small $20 decrease this forum gets filled up by questions like OP

p.s. move it to speculation already.

Bitcoin has been constantly changing prices since the beginning.  If it goes up one day, or down the next doesn't mean it is going to go that way for good.  It constantly changes and there are reasons for it

It's going because more people are selling at the moment than buying.

It goes up when more people are buying than selling.

That's how it works.

I hereby reserve the right to sometimes be wrong

I believe so that the only reason bitcoin is going down is because of its highest demand and a lot of people buying bitcoin for investment which makes it too fast for selling. Its the same demand for others, buying at a lowest prices and then sell them for a higher amount..

I'd say there is also a bit of fear regarding the size issue. It seems to me like the issue was forgotten, not really dealt with.
