OK for all those that don't quite get bonus I'm going to simplify it :

You invest 1 BTC on first day with 20% bonus and let's for the purpose of this calculation say 1 BTC = 10000 WAVES

First day 20% bonus you would get 1.2BTC equivalent of WAVES = 12000 WAVES
Second day and till the end of 10% bonus you would get with 1.1BTC equivalent of WAVES = 11000 WAVES
No bonus with 1 BTC would be same so 1 BTC = 10000 WAVES

So those investing the same 1 BTC later when there is no bonus will get less waves than those that invested yesterday for 20% or 10% that starts today.

So the first 24 hours everyone gets the 20% bonus, right?

Let's say 4000 BTC got brought in, that's 21,500 Waves per BTC.
But there can't be a 20% bonus yet, because you would need 102M Waves to do that, but there's only 85M available.

Imagine someone putting 50,000 BTC in at the 10% phase? ...

Only in the end of the ICO you can calculate / know your real bonus.

I'm not 100% sure but this is what I think is happening.  Dev's please correct me if I'm wrong.  For example.  Someone buys 1btc of waves, with the 20% bonus, they will receive a 1.2btc.  For today, people who buy will get 1.1btc and so on.  Make sense?

Not really hard to calculate since you know the amount invested after 24 hours, and total.

So there is no way to calculate your bonus right now, only in the end when every BTC is in.

well i dont see how you can make money with investing in the ICO. its still open for 48 days. Everyone which wants to buy, will be able to get it.

It might be hard to imagine, but I am certain that a lot of people will not hear about/be willing to buy waves until after its launch. The initial price is ultimately determined by the ico-investors so as long as nobody sells for less than they paid you will make money.

Yeah you are correct I just simplified it ICO won't end today else your calculation would stand - you will still get 20% more waves at the end of the ICO than those that will invest last day, but we won't know exact numbers till this closes.

Yep, and if somehow they are attempting to add bonus on the fly. That number means almost nothing until the end of the ICO either. So just sit back and have a drink, cause no one knows the final number of coins they get.

Of course it works this way.
The 20% bonus was not notable during the first 24 hours because EACH btc investment had the added 20%. This way it made no difference because your share was the same as if no one had gotten a bonus.
Now as the proportion of 10% and 5% bonus investments get bigger during april and may, your 20% bonus will become more and more notable.

example of how the bonus is added on the fly:

peter 100btc (counts as 120btc)  //20% bonus
bob 50btc (counts as 60btc)  //20% bonus
__24h passed__
max 50btc (counts as 55btc) //10% bonus

before the 24h passed the bonus did not make a difference. peter had 66.6% of the waves and bob had 33.3%. wether the 20% were added or not.
after the 24h period the bonus becomes notable as bob now owns 25.5% of waves and max owns only 23.4% but they both paid 50btc.
