Update : so far it's been good, however i am getting lots of fake orders from Malaysia. He keeps using the same iPhone device and ip address with different usernames.

I am starting to tell the fake orders from legit orders.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Surely a better way to do this (which would also circumvent apples rules) is to make a smartphone compatible website selling BTC?

The price wouldn't have to include the 30% apple cut which would allow a lower cost to the consumer.

What we need on the iPhone as an actual native app is a simple wallet...

I thought about that and it seems like many people have tried to do that and they get lots of chargebacks from credit card companies.

Allow only Bank Transfers - or another non-reversible transaction? Although I see the issue there is that it introduces more difficulty in making the purchase (And simplicity is vital for mobile).

Barclays PingIt would add some simplicity?

To do international bank transfers is not a simple solution what i have is a simple solution with global reach.

I know that they are not simple, but your current solution will cost the end user more (apples 30%) and it does not stop chargebacks.

And you point out yourself, It is obviously highly vulnerable to scammers.

What we really need is a paypal without chargebacks.

The last fucking thing that we need is Apple and all the Sheeple to Declair "BITCOIN IS USED FOR FRAUD RELATED THINGS, ITS BAD!"
That would be rediculosly hard to "stuff under the rug", Yeah sure, You can use bitcoins for fraud related things, But thats not what they're for.

Any negative press coming from apple aimed at bitcoin would be so fucking hard to say "Apple, Your wrong" and have people agree with the bitcoiners.
Seriously.
Apple is totally Anal about thier rules and policies, Putting something into the apple app store that directly violates thier terms that allows them to purchase bitcoins, Is going to make it look like bitcoins are bad, Because they broke the rules to get in

Please, If it hasnt been taken down already, GET RID OF IT! We do not need bad press because of someones Good Intentions

I suggest blasting Apple with reports, especially if you've downloaded the app, bought brownie coins, as presumably a complaint disputing a purchase gets attended to quicker than a complaint about an undesirable app in the App Store.  If he can't be reasoned with to save his own wallet from the eventual tide of chargebacks, no amount of reasoning is going to get him to consider the interests of the Bitcoin community/project as a whole.  Either that, or he is operating a scam himself.

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

That's likely because there's no option to direct purchase other goods, but rather proxy-purchase them through Brownie Coins. Either way, the end result is that's it's possible "to purchase physical goods or goods and services used outside of the application".

There are many apps in the app store that let you buy coins, play games, earn point and exchange the points for physical products. is it gambling ? some people would say yes but Apple says no it's not.

Just because you sleep with the girl and buy her nice stuff make her a prostitute ? some people would say yes but Apple says no she is not.

When you purchase brownie coins that is all you are doing is purchasing Brownie Coins. What you use your brownie coins for apple really does not give a shit about, I don't know the exact legal reason why they don't give a shit but reality is they don't.

Could you give any specific examples of applications that indirectly allow for the purchasing of physical goods using in-app purchases?

You are trying to reason with someone unwilling to reason.

Aside from reporting this to the app store, another plausible idea is baiting scammers and attracting them to this so both he and Apple will be overwhelmed with scams.  Better it happen in the form of a rush than a slow trickle, the quicker it will be dealt with, and the more bitcoins this overconfident fool will lose as well.  He could apparently use a costly lesson.  Given that he has other paid apps in the app store, it would be sweet justice to see Apple recoup their losses by offsetting it against his revenue for those apps... assuming they don't just pull them after a more thorough review they'll be certain to undertake.

Hee hee hee... Yes, they might as well call it GSN.com's "Hotel California Casino".  You can cash in, but you can never cash out!

If you could make Brownie Coins work the same way, and still get people to buy your coins continuously without any ability to cash out as BTC, you'd be living the American Dream®, complying with App Store guideline of all coins must be used in-app, and meanwhile, would garner my instant respect.

Must I really respond to this?  It is simply not true: I don't jailbreak (not that I'm against it, I just don't have any need), and I consistently pay for the software I use.  Evidence please if you're going to make accusations.
