timestamp and sign/verify bits of copyright material such as poems/ideas/etc. with the choice of making it private, public or designated for the recipient?

And maybe have the Bitcoin Foundation to maintain a searchable database of such submissions so it does not get out of hand.

Miner’s fees must be incorporated into the system as well to benefit community and filter the files/messages initially.

I understand that it can be done right now (in a way), but it appears to be needing much work still.

Also there should be an easy way to verify an identity of a wallet owner using just software/webcam. I foresee this as one of the major requirements for Bitcoin’s wider adoption.

And the previous topic seems to converge to the conclusion that there's no demand.

This is a topic-of-one-thousand-threads, one of the many that keep popping up in here over and over again.

The short answer, for those that somehow managed to find this thread first, is that it is technically easy to do in any number of ways with various levels of niceness.  No systems are in serious use because there is no demand.  Which is funny considering how many times I've written this reply, but still true.

I guess if about 20 people all said "I have something that needs a provable trust-free timestamp right now, and it would be worth 5 cents to me if you would finish your service so I can use it tomorrow" to me, I'd get mine ready for public consumption and announce it here.

Heh.  My point was more about the missing dollar.

But that service looks like a mess.  To verify a timestamp, I get to download every single message that was ever signed by it to check the chain?  Ugh, no thanks, I've already done that once.  At least with bitcoin I already have the software, plus I know that the whole world has a financial incentive to make sure all blocks are correct too.
