Posting of your participation in a Ponzi is to encourage others to believe it is worth joining, too. Otherwise you'll end up being the mug who doesn't get paid, when you actually want someone else to be the mug who doesn't get paid. This means you seek to entice others in purely so the operator of the ponzi will share some of their deposit with you.

That's a pretty shitty way to seek 'profit' and, while nobody is actually preventing you from participating in these schemes, we are letting other forum members know what kind of person you are through tagging you as being demonstrably untrustworthy.

It isn't complicated.

Ok. Well I don't believe it deserves a negative rating. IMHO it should be a neutral one explaining you invested in a ponzi. If someone just participates in the ponzi it's a bit like participating in a gambling game. It should be a negative rating only if the person promotes the ponzi saying something like "It's paying perfectly! Try this people" you see?

Anyway, it's not important, was just wondering about this. 99% of people participating are either scammers or total newbies. And the last ones will learn fast ^^

Ok so I just clicked on your beautiful sig ^^

Quote
1. It matters NOT whether participating in a ponzi is illegal. This is not even the issue.

2. The profit you seek to make through your participation in these schemes is that which is stolen from other users.

3. Posting of your participation in any form in their threads is UNDENIABLE PROOF that you don't give a shit about other users being ripped off.

Well, your point 2 is the exact description of any gambling game. Any profit you make from any casino you stole it from other users. Promoting casinos is even worse than simply posting your participation in a ponzi. In the first case you encourage other people to get tipped off while in the second you only state the risk you willingly took on your own Smiley

Jesus fucking Henry Christ, how can people be so wilfully dumb?

If you spin the wheel on roulette you have an odds-based chance of winning or losing against The House. If you participate in a Ponzi the only way for you to 'win' is if someone else is fooled into sending their money in.

A Ponzi will ALWAYS collapse in the end because of math. Those who knowingly participate wish to help the operators of the ponzI steal the deposits from the last participants who will all lose money.

Don't claim that all participants know what they are getting involved in either because that is bullshit. There are plenty of people who struggle to understand what these schemes are actually based on.

Edit: Side question, why the "Henry" in the exclamation?

And it's the exact same thing with a casino. The bank will ALWAYS win in the end because of the math. Those who knowingly participate wish to help the operators of the casino steal the deposits from the next/previous participants who will always lose money.

The only difference is that ponzi is a brutal way of doing this, but if the people participating in the ponzi actually know and say it's a ponzi, I don't see what is bad at doing so.

Which is why I said that people stating their participation to the ponzi while not promoting it shouldn't get punished for it. The ones making claims like "it really pays, so great!!! Come guys best site ever" or whatever are actually trying to convince people to play while not always knowing what they risk so I understand why you tagg them as untrusted users.

Which is why I said that people stating their participation to the ponzi while not promoting it shouldn't get punished for it.

Firstly, if people delete their post after learning of the implications of their participation in a ponzi thread I will generally delete the rating, so no harm done. Secondly, and this is the important part, there is no point in posting of your participation in a ponzi other than to bolster its image and draw more participants in, so you don't end up being the mug who doesn't get paid.

The *whole* point of posting of participation in a ponzi thread is so somebody else will be the mug who doesn't get paid.

That is demonstrably the behaviour of a person who is not trustworthy.

Right. Gotta admit there is no point in stating you participate but to legitimate the ponzi. Which is obviously a not trustworthy behaviour.

I might not agree totally with you but I see your point of view. Thanks for sharing it.
Anyway the whole idea of the trust system is to give out a personal value of your trust in someone. You got all the right to neg trust someone for any reason. Simply because you don't trust this person ^^
