What is a good store to buy powered 1x to 16x or 16x to 16x  PCIE risers from. It appears to be hit or miss when ordering them.

You can find a bunch on ebay and amazon, I would get the usb pci-e x1 to pci-e x16 ones as you can swap out for a longer usb cable up to 3 meters (~10 ft) and most boards have a few pci-e x1 slots but usually only 1 x16 slot.  IMO they are all the same made by some manufacturer in china left over from the litecoin days, only difference is some have mounting holes on the board.

i bought them for cheap on ebay, from a germany guy, they work good so far, he sold a lot already, so you can feel safe there, you can try those chinese riser too for $2, but i would avoid

I would not call 10$+ instead of 3$ cheap, but it is without the shadow of a doubt, much much faster. Amazon if you're in a pinch for sure.
