Dapp Marketplace

Hi all,

I own many dapp related domains and to further promote the industry I am looking to start a dappmarketplace/dapplisting type of website.

Couple of questions:
1. Where can I find lists of other dapps to add on my site?
2. Do any of you here create dapps that you would like posted?
3. Is there overall enough interest for me to put time towards this?

Certainly dapp is good but to sincerely know peoples interest, it will be better to make this thread a poll where people will say yes or no.

I work on Lisk (a Dapp Platform), Maybe we could coordinate and add some Dapps to the database
Also, I'm also interested in helping out in general.

Not exactly a website but something like a playstore but open source and completely decentralized.You can start by making a github group and selecting a few experienced developers to start with.

Palatas - The thing is, a website is much more accessible to the world, than a downloadable playstore. Let me know if I am misunderstanding your idea here. Watashi - can also contribute to the open source question here.

Some notes:
I am pretty open about this, I just want to build a big community - and that is where my strength is.
Open source is one way to do it, but I feel that if I put together the proper team that is centralized the operations of the site will be much smoother, efficient, and we can collaborate on promotion of the website.

I know the sentiment of the industry is open-source, non-revenue generating, etc..and I am not against that route, but I see downsides to that when it comes to having a website that is simply a hub or a listing site. For DaPP creation or platform building, open source is great.

Thoughts? Before jumping in to this I want to sit back and let a few ideas simmer in my head.

My skill set: Operations, management, partnerships, community building, branding, ideas. I am a technical person - I understand programming and architecture, but if you sit me down in front of a blank screen and ask me to create something, this is not where I excel.

Complimentary skillset that I need: Reliable programmer(s)/technical people to build and keep the site running.

I think this is a very good idea. Soon we will have a host of "second generation" coins with dapps all around, so it would be nice to have a marketplace where we can see the details and compatibility of a dapps in a orderly way.

This is my goal, it will also give the dapp creators a name in the industry.

Glad there is interest, currently DMing/Skyping with some programmers now.

I would start to focus on Lisk and Ethereum dapps. They are the most promising platforms for dapps at the moment. You can get a ready-to-use script to list such dapps. There are also a lot of open source scripts available.

a DAPP app store would be pretty cool but I don't know if there's a good business model there - It's super niche!

It is still a niche but dapps will be a super trend in the future. Many platforms go in this direction to offer features in order to run dapps. Therefore it is just a question of time until dapps reach a broader crowd.

This was one of my ideas, then I would approve them. I mostly want to get this up and running soon, so I may get that feature in the future.

From my personal POV, I think maybe it will be better if you make a platform (where people will add their own projects, and users will rate them).

Of course, you can make an invitation system and some other features, but you will not have to fill your website, you will just focus on making a marketplace.
