I had really high hopes for SC and Storj in fact. Was eagerly looking forward to the release of Sia. Price also have been on the constant rise but just after the release something has gone wrong terribly and price has been dropping down.

Personally i was looking forward to the Storj-share feature, but initial deposit of 50k just pushed me off it. Should've been less imo.

Having said that, the UI and other things work far better than the beta version and they've done a tremendous work. Fingers crossed as to things will pick up instead of just fizzing out.

There was never a requirement to deposit 50k in order to participate in any Storj test group. The latest test group C has just been announced here:

and as you can see in that announcement, you can participate without holding any SJCX at all. If you would like to receive full rewards, you may elect to hold 1k SJCX in your payout address, but even if you hold less or none, you still can receive some rewards. Also, you will be in full control of your tokens at all times, they never have to leave your wallet. Farmers that participated in previous test groups actually were able to enjoy a nice boost in the value of their tokens as an added benefit to receiving rewards. So I am not sure why you would be worried that this project may be "fizzing out"? New farmers are joining the Storj community every day and you can see active development going on at the storj github repository. For Sia that's not that much considering it started from 30 sat or so. It's only normal to have such pumps when the coin is so cheap. Still congrats to anyone who went all in on Sia and trippled their money

In several years ... sure, why not. CDN  and cloud storage markets are huge and growing fast. If Sia is competitive with classic solutions, its valuation will be huge.

I entered when it was around 70 satoshis. I'm just pissed I haven't bought much more of it, because I planned to. But before I managed to get it, its price skyrocketed. So I'm hoping for some correction now.

I also mine, but the difficulty increased a lot over the past month or so. Amount of coins I mine daily now is almost half of what it was a month ago.

siacoin has a partnership with nextcloud (who are huge), which offer sc as a blockchain solution.

i highly doubt siacoin will die anytime soon. encrypted and distributed storage will be a huge asset once it's greater realized.

I was thinking of buying Siacoin. However, I made a decision last year to invest in LoyalCoin because I definitely like their project concept plus they might plan a meetup here in the city I lived in.

One of my Facebook friends told me that Siacoin is a sleeping giant. It was still $0.01 that time, but now it's almost at $0.09. I just need to wait for my extra funds and use some of them for Siacoin.

I'm looking forward to owning some shares. Cheers!
