So....I don't think the coin is dead, but I haven't seen that much "revival" messages lately either.

Is the revival still planned/ongoing?  Smiley

Hi Delphinus,

Yes the Fedora Tips revival is very much alive.  A new community has been working for getting on to 6 months on this up to now.  We talk mostly at discord & slack because all of the work so far has been technical - mostly around the wallets.

The Fedora wallet codebase (like many altcoins) has been left untouched for years. What the new team has been doing is basically redevelop from the ground up using the latest libraries to ensure it is most of all secure, and also fast.

We haven't publicised what has been going on much because we care a lot about quality of delivery, and there's too many other projects out there that try and rush things.  Having said that we are probably only a few weeks away from relaunching it.  We've done a lot of testing, Tips transactions are getting confirmed in about 2 minutes which is pretty cool!

Be happy to chat more - feel free to pm anytime  Smiley

Good news from Novaexchange's News page:

Quote
2018-01-14 14:23 - Nova will NOT close its doors!
Honoured customers and crypto currency enthusiasts! You have been told a while ago now that we were planning to close down Nova Exchange in the beginning of 2018. We made this tough decision because Nova Exchange was growing at a speed, and in a way, that us, the founders, could not keep up with and run the business in a meaningful and secure way. Not wanting to make promises we might not be able to keep, we didn’t tell anyone, not anyone, that we never stopped looking for a way to keep going and keep Nova Exchange in business. So! We are so happy to announce that we have found a partner, a new main shareholder, willing and more importantly, able to carry on running Nova Exchange. The new owners, we have made sure, have the resources and the experience (6+ years in the business) it takes to provide excellent service to you all. We started negotiations and talks early in November last year, and now we can tell you the good news: The show will go on! More information will follow. In the meantime, just go keep on trading crypto. Best Wishes to you all!

Hope Novaexchange will be back to trade able soon.

Hello,

as you can see on the original thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=552233.0 we are going for a community friendly takeover of Fedoracoin.
We are not connected to the sha256 group.

If you have any questions feel free to ask us here on the new ANN, we will reply and answer all your answers.

Hi, Can you get someone to do a proofread of your website at http://fedoracoin.top/ it says "Get all the informations you need"    Informations is incorrect, it should say 'information'. as information is a non-countable noun. Just like you don't say can I have more waters at a restaurant.

Hi There,

Thank you for the feedback!  We have just launched a complete set of new channels, you can find them here.  Please subscribe and share!

The Tips wallet has been redeveloped for several months now and is about to be relaunched - see the latest news on the Reddit:

There in fact is a market at 1 satoshi. If you bought at 1 satoshi today and then sold at 1 satoshi a month from now you might triple your money if btc keeps going up. But for all practical purposes it could take you months to liquidate at the present rate of buy in. But if investors step up the buying or if ever a frenzy would hit a fortune could be made at this 1 satoshi market.

Go TiPS- It’s been a rough patch but I hope something good will come since TiPS’ been around forever.

Hi Brian,

In case you're interested here's some links to the latest social channels:

https://twitter.com/FedoraTipscoin
https://www.reddit.com/r/FedoraTipsCoin
www.tipsco.in

The twitter feed is updated most often, it would be great if you wanted to subscribe and share!  We couldn't reach any of the original reddit mods, and since it was hardly ever updated and we had no access we decided to create anew subreddit.  Please subscribe to the reddit as well, and let us know if you want to get involved in the activity - we'd love to have as many people as possible.

A fully rebuilt and patched wallet will be released on March 18 btw, if you follow the twitter you can get all the updates.

Cheers!

Hi Mitterman,

There is no ICO - we are not doing anything to the existing Fedora network, the blockchain or any existing coins.  We are rebuilding the wallets to make them up to date, secure and more useable for the Tips community.  We are also establishing new social channels to increase awareness of Tips and help build new use cases (eg: face to face transactions, physical tipping, etc).

If you want to buy Tips the best way to do it is at coinexchange.io, but use the Tips/Doge pair it has the best exchange rate (NOT Tips/BTC).

Cheers!

Will the current wallet's database work with the new wallet? Can you let us know the updated features of the new wallet, ie OpenSSL update, in wallet BE, etc.
Also any new exchange listing on the horizon?

The OP of this forum REALLY needs to be updated, it sucks and the info is way out of date.

Hi Brian!

It's likely that you will need to resync the blockchain with the new wallet.  The old database code in the legacy wallet was so old that we had to rebuild the DB logic from scratch.  Plans for the next wallet iteration include auto-update and bootstrapping, so for that one it will eliminate the hassle of updating and syncing.  When we kick off the relaunch on March 18th it will include the roadmap with staged releases and further details, the plan is to have a dynamic roadmap (probably trello) so that everybody can comment and input into the ideas.

Definitely have exchange listings on the radar!  We have started initial discussions with a few exchanges but further listing is dependent on exchanges seeing an active community, refreshed codebase, etc.  That's why we are so keen to get this foundation release out there!

Cheers,
Robots.
