I am interested in an antminer S7 in the UK, but don't want to pay the crazy ebay prices which is more than from bitmain + customs duties id pay. This is to be used to solo mine for my experiment, I know finding a block is 'low probability' but why not : )

I do have a question mind, is it possible to underclock these well so I can put quieter fans on them? I do not mind sacrificing some hashpower! What sort of price would I be looking at? Preferably with a power supply. If I need to pay in bitcoin I would like to use escrow with ognasty.

Once you make freq 20% less on the s-7  it drops to  3700 gh
Fan swaps do not work well So

the way to make them silent (tolerable) is as follows.

Batch 1-7    stock clocks are about  600  drop to 480   set fans from 25 to 35%  as long as temps read under   65c you are good

Batch 8 to 15 stock clocks are about 700 drop to 500 set fans from 25 to 35%  as long as temps read under 65 c you are good

lastly get this

put the miner fully inside it

this  hole allows the pcie wires inside
                               V
     2 foot or less>>  l  l >>>>>>> 20 foot
    _______________  ________________________________________

intake>>>> miner >>>> air flow exhaust
    ________________________________________________________

the long exhaust allows directing the heat out of home.  you can trim the length if you do not need 18-20 feet to exhaust the air

I may be able to get a batch 1 s-7 next week for you
I may be able to get a s-5
I [/b]may[/b] be able to get 2 sp20's

I can get an avalon 6 this week note I shipped avalon 6's to Finland and to the U.K.

here is the one to finland

What prices would you be asking? I may have already made a deal through PM, an S7 with only two working hash boards so 3.2 TH/S, I have made him an offer, if it doesn't turn out will come back to you and we can sort something out.

I think you will find UK prices are just very high, it stops almost all from mining there.   The vat alone kills most deals.  And normally UK electricity price is nothing special.  So you are likely better off finding a hosting center in a place without a VAT.   And pay to have it hosted there.

Then you can order direct from Bitmain and no vat, or anywhere.  EU miners hold a higher price then most of world due to vat, miners are high there only ones who avoid it are ones who preform fraud and try to send as something else to avoid VAT.  And I'm not pro fraud so I don't suggest this.

Just to say that I am also in the UK and would love to have a single hash board from one of the 135 Chip (Batch 10 -16) Miners to play with. I am sure that with a reprogramming of the PIC these can be made more efficient... So if you do a deal I would, at the right price, be up for a single hash board, which would reduce your Power consumption and noise on the remaining 2 Board system?

A week ago i bought a new B16 S7, including bitmain PSU, second Fan, delivery and taxes it cost me €772 to EU
I don't know the prices from your local dealer, but if you get a new with warranty for round about €800, i would buy one  Grin
