Can I mine any cryptocurruncy on laptop and make profit? I know bitcoin can't be mined with laptops or even with desktop in solo mining so I wonder if there's any cryptocurruncy which earn me some profit?

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

I doubt it. If there are any, safe bet the laptop better be a top-end one with a separate GPU/video ram vs integrated Intel or AMD graphics to accomplish anything.

You should look into Gridcoin http://www.gridcoin.us

It's a cryptocurrency that rewards BOINC computation (volunteer distributed computing). I'm currently being rewarded for protein folding and attempting to solve cancer&ebola. Check out some of the whitelisted projects: https://www.gridcoin.us/Guides/whitelist.htm
