So I get a S7, runs great for 2 days. Then BAM, HW error rate jumps. Blade 1 and 2 now pretty much dead. Blade 3 running great! 1.5th easy.
Blade 1 and 2:
If i connect them each individually they show many failed chips and barely hash, around 22g or less.
So I see that I need to open a ticket and pray that they will respond and maybe help me?
Is that what I have been reading...
Any helpful hints with dealing with them would help!

I've only had 2 problem miners, a s5 and and last Feb a s7. Both had DOA cards. Filed the repair ticket, they got back in a day or so with a few questions I answered (also had made screen shots of the GUI's showing the problem). They got back with the RMA procedure. If you are lucky and is not all cards, the bad card(s) will need to be returned at your expense. In both cases I got a replacement card 2-3 days after UPS said the got it. Dunna know how so fast They pay the for shipping the card(s) back to you. From the USA my cost shiping to China using UPS's cheapest international was $75.

My helpful advice is don't try to do anything physically to them, basically opening anything voids warranty. Assuming this is a new one from bitmain send the order info and problem in email and ask for a RMA. Just to be sure what PSU are you using for your S7? (making sure it has proper power). Also out of curiosity is it a new one fan with having it only 2 days?

without voiding the warranty you ARE however allowed to swap the controller cables around to verify a cable or socket isn't bad. It probably be something they will ask you to do so try it ahead of time to save on playing email ping-pong before they issue an RMA.

Technically they pretty much have it where you cannot do anything with current policy. I know people do try things such as this without contact. But they have pretty vague terms: Customer removes/replaces any components by himself without receiving permission from Bitmain first They have never not accepted RMA due to changing cables that I know of. But "componet" being removed could cover just about any physical change. Full warranty is here: https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=000201603310959482268cfunbq106E5 I'm not saying it's a good thing as I love to tinker. But they have a very vague warranty at this point that could be read many way's with it being vague.

I have a total of 3 S7. This is the most recent one that I have got from Bitmain. IT still has 2 fans. This is the power supply: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231790790618?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT2000watt I have this on all three. The PSU run cool to the touch. All have at least 12.37 volts under full load of the S7. This unit ran perfectly for around 46 hours before taking a HW rate shot up fast. I have tried different power supply. If I run just one board at a time: Board 1: shows x's on all the status slots. But says ASIC# 45 Board 2: shows x's on over half. Also says ASIC# 39 Board 3: Show all o and all ASIC# 45 and hashes around 1.52th Temp all show below 48c or lower. If may be easier and cheaper to just wait till I mine enough BTC to buy another one and use this one for parts...

I sent all 3 BURNT S7 hash blades out in February, and I still have not received a replacement miner. It caught fire around Christmas, their warranty/RMA service is a fucking joke.

Does not sound fun what timeline are we talking about early or late Febuary? Also what do they say if you ask questions showing you sent it so long ago? Just curious on that, but best of luck hope it ends up being soon on getting back.

if stuff was under warranty from them it was never hard to get any thing replaced or fixed by them, for me , it was when it wasn't under warranty the problems started they would give me a price a few days later i go to do it they would not honor it or any prices they gave me in fact would mark it so high i would tell them forget it. There excuse was prices go up . I'm used to prices being honored for 30 days at least not one day. or being told that was the price that day that day etc etc ..but that was also when they had a repair center in the US which was a bitch to keep open with US laws I guess if it's not open any more. it may still be there can't say the last thing i ever bought from them was 1 S5, i felt cheated with the S7 so i never bought one .

Now there are options. Warranty Claim can be filed from Create Ticket Page and send it to new Hong Kong address. (Please do not send it to Mainland China address that was used in the past) Other option is to use repair center in USA, Venezuela and Ukraine, if you are outside of China, this is usually faster. Additional in Russia and EU be available but not in full service yet. (Localized repair service is a fee based. you can email to request the repair.

You have been missing from the forums since Jan 14th. Nice to see you back. Hope you are well. I have written a lot of posts complaining about your company and the lack of service for the s-7. I would like to think that you will stick around to support buyers here. I would like a 67 to 75 usd refund for my under hashing batch 1 s-7. So I can stop trashing your company about it. Since your company gave it to li hosting in China of which I had 1 machine but simply did not compensate me for my one sent to my home. And it is really annoying to be blown off for 67 to 75 dollars since Nov of 2015. I wrote multiple emails zero reply. I never asked for much. I asked for a refund via a coupon and I still purchased 17 machines after the bad batch 1. It would be nice to fix this for me.

BitmainWarranty is not Bitmain, it is a company in the USA that does contract work for Bitmain. The CEO of Bitmain posted something in this regard on his twitter some months ago. This is likely the reason why there are repair fees for the localized work (USA, Ukraine, and Venezuela).

Personally, I recommend purchasing your miners here in the US from Yoshi. You will pay more but it is worth it imo. I am two days shipping to colorado using ups ground, and two days back.
Since I started dealing with these guys, it is a much better system. You cannot buy from China and then deal with Colorado. They are different entities.
I haven't waited longer than a week except once when dealing with Colorado. If you know how to troubleshoot, or follow instructions they treat you respectfully. Totally the opposite of the factory.
Edit 1: I do ask before I do anything. I send screen shots. I document every contact. I take pictures.
When a new product is released or a product is near EOL for China, you can wait, and wait, and wait.
If you do buy from Yoshi / Colorado you can only go through them for service, but it is closer to what is acceptable service for the amount of money these miners cost.
|
Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function. Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

Do not use Bitmain, they are slacking hard in warranty & communications. It takes days for them to reply to request & if you end up with a bad unit or board, boards you have to pay for shipping all the way back to Hong Kong & wait, wait, wait, wait & wait.
My S7-F1 already has a board that has failed after a little over a week. Now I am stuck with no option but to send the board to Colorado and end up paying 40- 200 bucks for repair or replacement cost. Or wait months to get Bitmain HK to honor the warranty. Time is bitcoin Bitmain HK & you suck on customer support & for not fully quality testing your products before shipping them to customers. So many people on Bitmains facebook page with bad reviews & issues, plus they wont even reply to any message you send them.
Rant over!
Question for Bitmainwarranty, why does it cost 200.00 USD to replace a single ASIC board for the S7-F1? That seems over priced since the entire units go for 533 from Bitmain & maybe 575 from BW.
Anyone have a spare S7-F1 Batch 16 ASIC board for sale? :*)

Repair cost is depends on what is damaged. Some could be free under the warranty, some could be hot plugging the PSU to the hash PCB, some connecting ATX power plug into PCI-E plug and so on. If you do DIY and replace components and that did not help fix the problem, you may actually killed it.
It is sad but we do see PCB that failed asic chip transplants, capacitor replacements, melted PCI-E plug DIY replacement went wrong, components that were NOT part of the original parts list, half charred PCB to a few pretty clean PCB with possible defects.
If a few asic then you are looking at around $45 or so, if it is more than a few chips then you may be looking at $75, if you blow mist on your hash PCB to cool and got them shorted out, then you may have to replace the hash PCB. It is a case by case and it is unknown until it is being looked at it, however, the average turn around is just a few days from receiving the unit or parts for diagnostic.

Not only is thier technical support terrible, so far It has cost me 100 usd just to ship an s7 hashboard which was DOA now they are saying, "So sorry shipping to us is on youeven though it was a factory defect." To make them even look less reputable it has been a month with almost little to kno communication. One final note the "lost" my hash board but it magically found when I pulled the shipping records. So to summarize, I am out 100.00 plus all of the lost hash revenue. Go China!
