I am having a problem with my spondoolies sp20 Jackson, as it tends to restart every 10 or so minutes. I get this in the log:

I marked where it says (Asic IDLE when should not be IDLE), as i believe this is the problem. I just cant figure out how to fix this. Any help is appreciated.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I'm not too familiar with the SP20 but some general things to check are internet connectivity, connection to the pool, and sufficient power to the unit.

Check temperatures as well, and check connections between the boards.

When I bought the machine used, it had come overclocked, as I think these were from a large operation where they had the room between 15 and 20° C, and it looked to be overheating. I set the minimal voltage lower so when it gets too hot it can still mine but it's at that perfect point where it will cool down while keeping a good hash rate.

Did you reset the START voltages, or the other one?
If you didn't reset the other one, you didn't change the max voltage or affect the probable overheat condition.
Also, what is your fan set at?

I've been playing with both of the settings, to see what works best. I haven't found much luck, as The log says to disable lazy asic, but there doesn't seem to be a way to change it. Fan is set at auto, as this thing gets noisy. I plan on switching out the fan later.

Set start at .65 Run 1 at .64 Run 2 at .64 Run 3 at .64 Run 4 at .64 Set all four watt settings at 190 Try that Same problem look at the four pcie cables Cable a. Cable c. Cable b. Cable d Pull cable a Start with that Same problem plug cable a back in Pull cable b plug cable b back in Same problem You should get at worst 3 boards to work

Wrong way around, start has to be LOWER than the other voltages.
I always ran my fan at 100, but noise wasn't an issue - max cooling was.
Even at 100 my SP20E was quite a bit quieter than my S5s were - the "focused flow" fans that the S5 uses are capable of better CFM against resistance than the AFB-type in the SP20E but the price is that they're louder.

I always set my start voltage higher not lower. and I never like auto setting of fans or 100% setting when I pushed the sp20's hard I set at 80 or 90 % when I did a high clock I liked 80% never auto not to argue about voltages but my 65 start and 64 run for all 4 was pretty much a bullet proof setup

Auto on fan speed I class as worthless. Fan speed seems to be a matter of taste thing - YS Tech doesn't have quite the rep for longevity that Delta has, but I've had very good luck with them lasting a long time in previous experience with them. For me it was all about "max the cooling so I can push the hashrate as hard as I can" when my electric was relatively cheap....

Your ASIC just needs to really cool down, then restart it.
Always keep an eye out for overheating... an additional fan would be good since you bought a used ASIC.
