Obviously you are going to get very different answers on this type of thread, and what it comes down to is what you feel comfortable with doing.  There are tons of different options people may pitch on here; but what it comes down too, is that you take the time and look into these investment choices and choose the one you feel is "the best".

Now, I would probably take however many bitcoins and buy an oz. of gold and probably a couple oz's of silver, which will probably leave you ~7ish Bitcoins left.  I would keep 1-1.5 in a personal wallet to readily access, 3-3.5 BTC in cold storage, then I would look at your options for the remaining Bitcoins remaining in altcoins.  Now, I know that you and a lot of people consider altcoins as P&D scams, but there are seriously some good stuff that has just came out and old ones that have had serious renovations to them that make them a fair coin that gives users different benefits from just your average Bitcoin blockchain type of coin.

There is a lot of hype around Ethereum right now, which is a completely different animal from Bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency for that matter, and it might work well and become very successful in the future... from what I've gathered, it's just a token to work on a decentralized cloud sort of database.  Then you have "anonymous" cryptonote coins, and the one that I've seen that has the "fairest" launch and distribution is Monero... XMR also is doing some pretty ground breaking technology with regard to Ring CT and is interesting (to me atleast); and also you can pay any bitcoin address with Monero anonymously by using XMR.to .

If altcoins doesn't suit your fancy, then I would probably suggest dishing out another .5 BTC to another wallet you might like to gamble with; me personally, I like gambling on golf matches, because I like to watch golf and know a little bit when it comes to who is who, and who might do good in a specific event... plus you get pretty ridiculous odds when you bet on someone to win.  I put like .02 on some guy that I thought would win, and he came like 2 strokes away to winning; which would have won me somewhere close to like 3 BTC.

All in all, there is a lot you can do... just do your own research and see what you think is right to do with that sort of capital.  However, like everyone has said before, I would store a decent amount in cold storage for long term holding purposes because you never will know what will happen to the price a couple years down the road (whether that's good or bad).

Good luck!

I will hold it. I am just hoping for bitcoin price to increase in coming few years, but if that's not the case I would invest a part of 10 btc in buying some alt coin preferably a well established one.

I would do nothing for at least 3-5 months, everyone is expecting a rise in the price of bitcoins. you'll make good profit if you hold on to your bitcoins. Wink

well yeah i guess most people would do a lot of gambling with such amount of money as people want to get more and more bitcoins but its definitely not the best way to make money

i think i would just hold all my bitcoins that you gave me because there will be price increases that will make me some good money in a longer run in my opinion, i hope i will be rich because of that

Gambling is not the right thing to do if you hold 10 btc in your wallet, as its far better to hold rather then spending for foolish thing like gambling where you can surely loose all your coins.

Since 10 BTC are free I would love to give them a shot in a single bet and hopefully if not double it, win at least 5 of it with an odd 1.5, yeah definitely Real Madrid today HT/FT win would have net this result, but remains just a dream after all Smiley.

I don't understand why you will pay anyone that huge amount unless you believe in charity  Grin If I would have that huge amount then I would prefer to invest in multiple products.

If I had 10 btc I would store 6 out of them safely on paper wallet or in offline wallet for future.I would invest remaining 4 in bitcoin trading, which to me is only ethical way to increase your bitcoin

10 btc is really a very huge amount to hold, but I will surely hold it for halving and sell at the time of halving when the prices goes higher.

I would just trade a couple of them and with the ones that I still have I would hold them for a long term period.
Its free so also 100% profit so gambling could also be a option although you can lose a lot of bitcoins by that.

I have read many good posts how people would spend 10BTC, but what would i do is to put a part of them in trading few most popular altcoins, and the rest holding because i don't see any good investment plan.

the best option that comes to my mind always is keeping the coins. because these days the price of bitcoin is considered low and soon this will change and there is a big profit in it.

aside from that i will use bitcoin to trade altcoins, for example today Dogecoin has gone up from 50 satoshi to 57 satoshi and i could catch a very nice profit in a very short time from my investment.

Trading is one of the best way. If you doing rightly it will give you many profit even can doubling your coin . I think i must learn more about this one.

If I will get 10 bitcoin then I will invest in there are many sites they are providing hourly In 2 days double so after 2 days I will have 20 bitcoin and it is very easy to invest there and I will get hourly payment, I will be double my btc from home.

Sure. That's definitely going to work out just fine. Why didn't I think of doing that before? I'm kicking myself right now.
