Drunken eBay bid landed me a single Neptune Cube which I decided to use with my old dusted up old Jupiter Board.  After the successful flashing of the firmware I'm rather frightened with what I'm seeing as these kind of temperatures if accurate can not possibly be anything but an imminent 911 emergency.

Anyone have any suggestions apart from immediately shutting it off on how I might cool it down?

I'm using a the Y splitter and a Platinum EVGA PSU and I'm pretty sure I'm running at "Stock Factory Default" settings nothing "overclocked" as far as I know.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

My eyes went O.O. I don't recall seeing such high temps either. IIRC there were good Neptunes and some bad replacement batch. Some chips are designed to run hot but, that seem a bit extreme.

If the sensor is on the chip like the Spondoolies "Rockerbox" based gear (SP20E etc) those temps aren't that bad.

 If it's on the board, DOWNCLOCK NOW OR BURN.


 And no, AFAIK they didn't include a fire extinguisher with original sales of the Neptune - but they should have.
I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

from the temps id say either theres and airflow problem or the thermal compounds gone bad 20c is a BIG difference
