Yes, you can find some pretty useful information here, but I would recommend researching everything you read here yourself using Google. There are many people who just write nonsense to beef up their post count for signature campaigns.

The Mining and Development & Technical Discussion sections of the forum are a bit better off in regards to signature link spammers. I see a lot more useful discussions on there compared to more general sections.

Yes, Information can spread easily on forum easily with massive community
But, I think it would be better if you get your information from a news source, there are many trolls here trying to spread false news
coindesk.com is pretty reliable for news source

Depends what kind of information you're looking for. However, I do have to state that you've posted this kind-of in the wrong section. Anyhow, the forum is better than some places (e.g. r/btc, which is horrible). You might want to check out some of the ignore lists (e.g. DannyHamilton's) in order to filter out spammers.

There are some people who are knowledgeable out there and posts really informative things. Most of them are in the legendary rank. Although btctalk has spammers, you can learn the concept of bitcoin here by reading a lot of threads. Especially in digital goods, you'll learn the value of things online. Basically by just exploring the whole forum will make you knowledgeable about bitcoin. You don't have to read long articles to learn about bitcoin but you only have to talk to people in the bitcoin society.
