Yeah, I know. If only... Oh well. We can't predict the future, and I am enjoying my car. Plus my license plate is helping advertise, so I'd like to think that at least a tiny part of the recent price spike was thanks to me  Grin

Exactly this. I cashed out my small stash a few months ago as I needed to get some new tyres (tires for you chaps over the pond) for my Prius (yes, I have one too!) and as the price was at a then all time high of 20 GBP I sold. I made a nice profit on my investments as well as my mining income and also purchased the said tyres for the car. So all in all, I'm still better off than I was when I entered the Bitcoin economy around six months ago.

Had I'd held off then I'd be a lot richer, but as said, we cannot predict the future and if everyone horded, then I think Bitcoin would fail as it needs day to day transactions to actually be worth something! So I don't feel bad at all, in a small way we're helping the Bitcoin economy by getting goods for our coins.

I'm pretty sure TONS of BTC are being hoarded now. I think the same things going to happen with BTC that happened with silver awhile back.

My thoughts on Gold are it's:

A: A commodity - Jewelry, electronics, etc
B: An investment

So yeah, I think I wasn't that clear in my description, hording is good, but transacting is good too and the two should go hand in hand, much like gold. That's what I think anyway, I may well be wrong here. (won't be the first time!)

I would want to own more than a few BitCoins.

not hard for anyone to understand - maybe ok in the short term, (as medium of exchange), but totally plausible as a store of value. Spend your Bitcoins, but save in gold too.

fake story.

What kind of evidence would you need?

You next to the car with a shoe on your head  Roll Eyes

Ok, not a shoe, but hopefully proof enough:

Filled it up 5 times so far. Despite winter, have not gone below 50mpg per tank yet. Averaging around 52, but going up with warmer weather.

And yes, had I waited, I could have bought the car, paid off my hubby's car, and paid off the house, but I didn't expect it to keep going up to $60  Shocked Frankly, I thought $30 might be the top of the bubble.

rassah, you may have been spotted by a redditor: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1wqbkq/saw_this_guy_on_my_way_back_from_buying_btc_what/

this is an old thread, people. and isn't this the mycelium developer? i hope he bought this account because i don't like the idea of a wallet developer being dumb enough to lose 2000 btc even if it was a long time ago.
