I am told XRP isnt supposed to have value of its own as such.

If it does, going on your pricing the developers just created 1,000,000 BTC worth of XRP. Of which they hold/control pretty much all of it right now.

What did i miss?

1) create a bitcoin fork with all coins pre-generated
2) give out 50% for free, to entice users.
3) sell the other 50%
4) HUGE PROFIT

I would like to see an answer to this by someone knowledgeable?

If you don't wish to trade your ripples through ripple exchange, don't get ripped off by petty con artists, which give the Bitcoin world its negative reputation.

I will convert it to BTC for you at the best BTC ask rate + 1% at the ripple internal exchange, by sending the BTC straight to you. For example, if the current ask rate for 1BTC is 50000xrp, you pay me 50500 for 1BTC.
