Storing all your coins in online wallet is not one of the safest practices. Especially with 425 BTC in your possession a Trezor or Keepkey hardware wallet is an absolute must and I mean it an absolute must. I am very very sorry for your loss as its a huge sum, but please from now on keep large amount of BTC in hardware wallets.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Seriously?  Huh  When you have $300k worth of coins on your computer, you don't just grant access to the first guy that sounds legit  Roll Eyes Surely if you have that kind of money you could've bought a $300 laptop just for your coins.
But I guess it could be that you're so rich that $300k is worth less than a handful of peanuts to you, that's why it never occurred to you that you might be at risk. That would be a little like me and the 0.04 BTC I have in my local wallet, I don't care about security because it's really no big deal if I lose it  Cheesy
Anyways hope you get your coins back.

All my BTC and LTC lost because someone hacked my Macbook, It was a personal attack.
The hacker knows my phone number, name, email , job etc...
My coins sent to the those addresses:

17FHzpKeoYmqz3p568VxZa8Mvn5NCs9S3S

425.34043077 BTC Shocked

Quote
Please help me if you can. I live in Vancouver, BC, how to contact cyber police ? or some security experts can help me here ?
Is it possible to get my coins back ?

So what you're telling me is storing ~$190,000 US in BTC, the most secure currency on earth, on an interweb-connected MacBook isn't the best idea ever?!
That said, you should get i touch with Reptilia, he lost a MacBook with wallets on it a while back too. For commiseration, if nothing else.

This is clearly a phishing scam! If these are true, I guess there is no way for you to get back your coins unless the hacker decided to give them back to you. This is the disadvantage of no-charge back feature of bitcoin, even though the transaction was not initiated by the owner.

Exactly.
You kept such amounts of money - not on paper wallet, not in cold storage, not on a hardware wallet - just simply at hand, then you complain that somebody took the opportunity?
Simply said: who wouldn't try that? Sorry, it's a bad world out there, try to be safe next time.

PS. That amount of money would have just fixed my life....

There's nothing we can do to help you, but you at least can learn something from this incident.
You can report it to police, but i think they can't do much either way Sad

You should keep your bitcoin in very safe place, such as paper wallet, hardware wallet or 100% offline PC where theft can't steal it easily.
Also, i think it's quite easy to detect that email isn't legit because company's email should be more formal.

About reporting it to the police - it is interesting how if 300k in cash/USD was stolen from someone the police would definitely investigate as it is a very serious theft.  Why with crypoto's is there usually no investigation.  This seems like an amount of money for the FBI cybercrime division or something.  The crypto world is definitely the wild west at this point.

I love Bitcoin

100% OP's own fault. no one can help you from here. even bitcoins from wallets are not reversible. if by chance your paypal account got hacked then you can reverse your money. but with bitcoin you can't even ask for wallet owners for this because it is full anonymous and no one can know who stole your money.

That's why Bitcoin cannot be something serious. It won't become a currency, it won't become mainstream shit. The average people are too exposed and these people are 99,9999%. There is not protection, nothing.
In normal circumstances, you would get ALL the money back from a bank but unfortunately Bitcoin is not a bank, it's not regulated. It's a jungle full of scams, full of hackers, full of black market. The normal "Joe" is victim.

You cannot make any chargeback, you cannot make anything. You simply lost the funds. That's it. I know it's HARD to get over but you must; others lost millions in the same way; you lost aprox 300k. This is life. Someday you earn, other day you lose; up and down...

You have to learn something from that. Never keep too much in ANY e-currency; no wallet, no cold shit wallet, no nothing ! Move the money to banks once you hit a "number".  And if you have too many, invest them in a local business, real estate. It's not an option to store too much money in a bank too. The interests are too low now.

BUT Bitcoin or any other  e-currency are not safe at all.

it does seem like the plot is being carefully studied and targeted bitcoin users, it just happen you got interested to the job and so you pick that very bad luckday.  Grin
reason why i don't trust getting files from https://mega.nz/ but instead i go directly to the developers site, if not then it sure is something suspicious .

I think he cant get back all of his money once it hack by the thieves so if he is planning to start and save money to his wallet again better to start using anti virus right now because bitcoin is running so fast and start investing your his money again so that he can get what he lose from the thieve after halving...

Fishy story.  Can you prove ownership of 18wPAqgrHYBoNXrxV6w7kc8dVdTfkCCrFC by signing a message with your private key?

This will validate somewhat your story.  If you can't provide this then you never owned the bulk of these coins and your story is disproved.

I can't stand these kinds of people. I hope they all rot in hell. I'm sorry this happened to you. There's about 0% chance you'll get the Bitcoins back. I would look into offline storage if I were you.
