ICO is the abbreviation of Initial Coin Offering. It means that someone offers investors some units of a new cryptocurrency or crypto-token in exchange against cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Here's a good example of an ICO https://vlux.io/

ICO is the time to sell coins from companies initial Coin Offering is a program as an opportunity to buy tokens on projects in blockchain ecosystems through crowdfunding.
Supporters and investors buy project tokens and can operate commercially with tokens purchased according to lists on different platforms.
The ICO is intended as an aid to the realization of the project and for the need for temporary costs because there has been no capital turnover.
ICO will also be used to improve international business and build teams well.

I do not like icos and this position is with me for so long time, ICOs liek programs for getting money for projects are too inreliable and dangerous from the side of possible losses and it is very annoying and disappointing things. I prefer buying crypto currencies more than ICOs so much.

In my view, the ICO is the process of producing a coded coin, or tokens, coin (which is like printing money), and sells these tokens to investors. . But it can be said that 90% of current ICO projects are scam or not worth

ICO - initial placement of coins. In other words, a new project wants to earn money for your business and produces their coin, which supported this project. At ICO price of the coin is lower than on the stock exchange, as there sells it to you the project itself, but in practice the price of the stock exchange very often drops sharply down after the end of ICO.

ICO is the crypto equivalent of an IPO on a traditional stock exchange.

Seems like this is the new way for companies to raise the funds they need to develop a project without all the red tape associated with the stock market.

Peronally I would not invest further in any new ICO, I have seen them all cheaper after the ICO finishes in the stage before the product launches. I think the ICO is a good time to research and get to know a company but for maximum value I would invest afterwards.

ICO or initial coin offering is the process in which a certain company is selling their cryptocurrency/tokens to investors to outsource fund for their project. Once the ICO is successful, token holders have the opportunity to sell their tokens at a good price or use them to which the token may serve them best.

And what is the ICO influence on coin prices ?
The influence on the ICO is from the total supply of coins.
If the ICO price is high then the total supply of tokens is a little, so the more the total coins, the cheaper the price will be.

In a simple sentence, ICO (Initial Coin Offering) is an offering/ a selling of the coin/token in a new project. The team of the project will use the result of the token sale to finance the project then. You can know about the project in detail by reading a whitepaper from them. If the project is being a successful project, you will get a profit. But, if the project doesn't run well, just be patient because you will lose your money.

To best of my understanding, ico simply means initial coin offering. A token sold out at different stages with bonuses attached to it for early adopters and investors as a whole.

Hello, i'm new here and i would like to understand what is Initial Coin Offering.
Why does it open and closes ? And what is it actually ?

Thanks a lot if someone can help me.  Smiley

Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is an event where new and upcoming cryptocurrency (blockchain) project raise fund for their projects. At this stage, the coin is not yet know and not listed on any exchange yet, but investors can only buy from the developers of the project. After this stage according to their road map and white paper, it will now be available to the public.

ICO stands for initial coin offering and refers to the creation and sale of digital tokens. In an ICO, a project creates a certain amount of a digital token and sells it to the public, usually in exchange for other cryptocurrencies.

This is an opportunity for beginners to get good tokens, which can become an ideal coin, after entering the stock exchange. But it is also a danger not to get anything. So many proposed ideas are just fiction or idiocy.

ICO is a method of raising money for a project, its full meaning is initial coin offering. As we have IPO (Initial Public Offering) in conventional business world, so we have ICO in blockchain business model. The notable difference among both is that it is only a fully established business that can sell IPO to the public but ICO is being done by a new blockchain startup with no any form of prior success.

The earliest coin offerings before being launched into the free market offered by developers to investors with the aim of raising funds to develop the projects they do in this case are digital coin. They need funds to make the project develope quickly and can be quickly completed.
