I am relatively new to the bitcoin world, and was fascinated at the fact of a concurrency. I have some questions about bitcoin, if any of you fine gentlemen (or gentlewomen) would be kind enough to answer:

Does it have the characteristics of money? Is it able to fulfill the functions of money?

Bitcoin can be considered money in many respects. It can easily be divided, it can be a store of wealth, it can be used for transactions, so in effect, I believe it can be classed as money. In real terms it will be classed as money if it's value goes up steadily over time, so we really need another 50-100 years to determine 100% if it can be classed as money. That is my own thought on this.

First of all welcome to BTC world, Bitcoin is the digital currency which gonna rule the world in future. Please check the videos in Youtube as Bitcoin documentary, check the rate with preev site and main forums are Btctalk and reddit where you can find the people who knows well about bitcoin and uses.

Go read the whitepaper if you haven't already, and look for some historical Bitcoin articles. Most of the hype starts around 2013, when the price hit $1.2k.

Aside from that, there have probably been a few timelines for Bitcoin published, and those would be good to look at to.

Yes bitcoin is like virtual money without any physical assets supporting it. Its more like digital gold, and can be traded in real life trading market in different pairs like btc-usd, btc-eur etc. Bitcoin is quite popular in europian and american community so there is lot more space for its expansion in adoption which is good point in view of elite trader. So if you are asking this to get into bitcoin, than i suggest you to buy some before it get pumped after upcoming halving.

Bitcoin is the first of its kind and is most popular crypto currency but there are also many altcoin starting from modifying some functions of bitcoin.

it is hard to say it is money or not?
it has similar characteristic of money but it also lack of goverment support(military or none military way)
it has service provider like bank(E.G. Hong Kong ANX)
