I just finished law school and I am taking the CA bar in July. I am very interested in crypto-currency advocacy, taxation issues etc. I saw that in the past someone made an attempt (theclag.org), to address this area, but it seems they have fallen off the radar or lost interest. I just reserved btclag.com, org, net, info, and I plan to start compiling information on legal topics and non-binding legal research on crypto-currency (at btclag.org to begin with).
This board is a good source of info but finding good legal information can be challenging for the lay person and the accuracy can be problematic, as the board is geared for opinion type discourse that can often lead down various rabbit holes. I am not a licensed attorney yet and any information shared is purely for informational purposes only. Legal information is not the same as legal advice, which is the application of law to an individual's specific circumstances. I focused on cyber law in law school and I also have 20 plus years of IT knowledge and background to add to the mix.
I will post more information once I get the site up and running. When I pass the Bar I plan to do legal work surrounding Bitcoin and other crypto-currency. In the meantime I want to start amassing useful information for you to refer to
btclag.org - Bitcoin Legal Advocacy Group.
If you have any topics or information you want to share please feel free to PM me and I will take a look.
Thanks
David
