Sportsbet.io sent an email promoting a $500 “free bet” offer. Be cautious its scam, if you win and withdraw they are going to remove the balance..

If you don't mind can you share screenshot of the email? Like the subject line, promo details and the terms and conditions of the freebet?
I didn't receive that email from sportsbet.io. The only email I received was around the time their social media accounts (X and Discord) came back online and it was a regular promotional email not a $500 freebet offer.
It would be helpful to see the exact conditions of the freebet before concluding that it's a scam. The terms attached to the promotion may explain why balances were adjusted or removed after withdrawal attempts.
If it relates to the World Cup quarter-finals I get a similar email but your observation is observant because freebets don't come for free because we have to make a minimum deposit of $50 to stand a chance of getting a freebet of $50 but that's with a waggering requirement of x10.

If this is the similar email to the one received by Fixelifix (although the nominal is different) it is likely just a regular promotion not leading to scam.

I am not sure if Steve is around anymore since he is no longer with Sportsbet,

But wishing you a Happy Birthday, Steve!

I hope you are enjoying yourself with your family.
I guess it's okay for me to mention this since it was publicly announced that Steve is now with Jackpotter.com.

And yes, he's still around and active in other threads. He's also active on discord. I actually found out that today is his birthday because of his telegram. Look at this screenshot.

While Sportsbet has been abandoned even though this site is still operating, still the management changes have greatly affected it.

This situation once again shows just how important marketing is here. I used to bet a lot on Sportsbet, but now I don't even think about opening that site. There are many new sites and I prefer them. Sites that ignore Bitcointalk have very little chance of success. There may not be a huge number of users here, but there are a lot of people reading and most of the bettors here are high profile users. I'm sure losing such a market has had a negative impact on Sportsbet, but it was their choice.

It is interesting to see the experience you shared earlier, there was doubt about the free bet promo but the withdrawal actually worked out fine. What made that opinion change?

Some people may still think this site is good for betting, but some members here are not so interested anymore because the promo is not as good as before. In the past, many people played here mainly because there were a lot of promos and the community was solid. It is true that good marketing helps bring new players and keep old ones playing. But since their market is not only on this forum, this may not be a big problem for their whole business.
