Britcoin is a peer-to-peer Proof of Stake cryptocurrency dedicated to becoming an alternative to the GBP within the UK.  The Britcoin network was first realized and launched in June 2014 and has progressed since then.  In mid 2016 a large technology entrepreneur took interest in the project and is now funding development and using his resources to help make Britcoin a payment network that is simple to use and ready for the mass market.

The Britcoin team consists of a range of individuals with different backgrounds in programming, marketing and cryptocurrency.  We have produced a development roadmap which we intend to follow out in the coming months, this will enable users to get the basic infrastructure in place before we push for adoption by merchants and individuals.

As we’re an open source project we welcome anyone who wants to help us out; there are a number of small but helpful things anyone can do to get involved with Britcoin.  Send us a message on here or use the contact form on our official website to find out more.

Mining period has finished.  New coins are made through 'staking' existing coins now.  You do this by leaving your wallet open and unlocked with coins in it for at least 12 hours.

Good to be back, guess you can't keep a good coin down!

Thanks to mo and all the other people involved who are helping Brit move forward again.  There are some big development plans in the pipes so it's exciting times right now.

Hopefully in the next week or two we can publish a proper development roadmap, outlining the different projects and fundamental infrastructure we want to have in place for Brit in the comings months.

This coin has been dead for 2 years and is being revived as they saw that Auroracoin and Scotcoin pumped recently.
This is purely a pump and dump scheme.
Plus there is already Sterlingcoin.
All those sellers would be lucky to get even 1 satoshi per coin.
And good luck on trying to get listed again on bittrex especially after getting delisted.
