I'm now really scared that my BTC will be worthless in a year or two, so I have started buying Rimbits instead.

Just don't say you are warned guys.

Rimbits is a scam. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Edit: To be honest, I don't really know if it is a scam or not, but when somebody starts promoting an altcoin like cbreum is doing, it looks just like a pump-and-dump. It probably is a pump-and-dump.

Eh, it's an anamolous question. Scam is scam. BTW, reason's greediness for sure I'd guess.

Seems like rimbit is just another community driven altcoin. I can say, altcoin with a different outlook.

But if u are not able to mine it?? Then tell me how I can earn rimbit?? Does it have a tips system or pay per post system?? What is that exactly??

This is a statement from the Rimbit frontpage:

"Bitcoin was built with a major flaw in that it needs a certain specialized group, called miners to help send Bitcoin from one place to another and this means that those miners actually control your transactions!
Rimbit on the other hand utilizes the power of the Rimbit wallet to send Rimbit from one point to another, without any influence from miners, making everyone who has a Rimbit wallet, be in complete control of transactions.
We removed mining from the equation so the Rimbit network is free from miners influence, making it a true community currency.
Rimbit actually is built from the Bitcoin code, plus a mix of other Crypto, to create a unique Crypto Currency, that is the only currency that can work 100% for years to come, which no other coin can match, until they revise their code and work exactly like Rimbit!"

http://rimbit.com/

It's an interesting statement, but it is true. We sadly see that the majority of mining goes on in China since it's not profitable elsewhere. The difficulty also only goes one way....here is another post:

"Here is the chart from 2009 to the present. The difficulty in 2009 all year was 1. Now it is 178 Billion."
http://rimbit.com/threads/bitcoin-difficulty.4552/

You are hyping this coin but it is 100% premine and a corporation is running or owning majority of the coin ,actually rimbit is not unique there are hundreds of coins that are also proof of stakes but they have a better feature than Rimbit and they don't tell people to forget bitcoin and buy our coin and become a millionaire, show gratitude by saying thank you bitcoin without it your rimbit is none existing

You need to buy from their store they don't have faucets or free distribution there are a lot of coins out there alt coins section that is much better and some of them you can get free like MRAI and don't believe that you can become millionaire just buying their coin the one who's going to get rich are those who premine rimbit..

I don't understand what you mean by "scam". Can you be more specific? It is one thing to say that Rimbit might never become valuable, but can you show me proof of fraudulent activity?

It is a typical altcoin pump and dump. cbreum convinces people to buy the coin and then sells at an inflated price and walks away, leaving them with worthless coins.

To be honest, I don't really know if it is a scam or not, but when somebody starts promoting an altcoin like cbreum is doing, it looks just like a pump-and-dump. It probably is a pump-and-dump.

I myself also support rimbit, yet the community is working to push Rimbit further, none of our members are doing a pump and dump. It's funny... Anytime I go into the altcoin section I see people like you dismissing coins immediately, and calling them scams. Now consider this, what if I had come to you in 2009 and offered you this magical bitcoin? What would you have done? Called it a scam and left, no?

I don't understand why the Bitcoin community is so offensive and childish. I understand that saying that Bitcoin has a major flaw does not really make them happy. But, why not argue on that matter instead of just saying empty phrase and insult everyone who own any other Altcoin there is. Really, I know the world is full of mentally sick peoples, but they cannot be all in here, on that forum. I hope...

I agree with the OP that mining is problematic because it leads to some kind of centralization on the miner group. But I also agree with most commentators that Rimbit is NOT the solution. Pure PoS does also lead to centralization because large stake owners will get most of the PoS rewards (this is specially true in high-"interest"-PoS currencies).

Actually, I think that the most viable way to avoid centralization is to combine various consensus methods. That's what coins like Decred, Peercoin and its clones (2 methods each) and Slimcoin (3 methods) are doing. The more complex the game theory behind the consensus, the better.

I discuss this in the following thread:

for me the most important reason why not "just" use bitcoins is the speed if you what to sell of by at more than 1
exchange. Bitcoin several times needed 1 hour, Zetacoin or litecoin needed only 4-6minutes around the world (china->Eu).
I just use Bitcoins to cash out, but recently i found out that it works also with litecoin->eur. So for my part, i avoid Bitcoin when ever i can if faster Altcoins can do a better job.

You don't mine it because it is pre-mined. You "mint" it. Leave your wallet open and earn interest. The wallet validates the transactions in the blockchain.

"Rimbit also does what is called "minting", which is another way of saying, "Rimbit generates Interest", so over the course of time, your wallet will generate 5% per annum Interest on the amount of Rimbit you have in your wallet and in doing so, also creates this interest as New Rimbit, and increasing the overall amount of Rimbit for the Global Population.
So as more people use Rimbit, more Rimbit is created as interest and that ensures that there will always be enough Rimbit for everyone on the planet!"

Join the community here: http://rimbit.com/
You can buy them on exchanges or directly here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/rimbit-is-the-crypto-currency-for-everybody/x/7156597

Just do it now if you want to be a Rimbit millionaire

Don't you mean if you want to make the current holders of the pre-mine millionaires?

And why trust rimbit?
Nobody(besides de dev) know if it is a scam or not, but buy a few seems reasonable.

Still, there are a lot other crypto good to invest, so... why rimbit?

I don't trust Rimbit because I think their web presence already sends out a clear warning, but that may just be me.

There obviously are some people who like this Rim bit.

I can't find any valid argument to sell my bitcoins in order to buy "Rimbit". You are just a rimbit promoter, and it's ok, but you should give better arguments to convince other of advantages of your altcoin instead of saying inconsistencies.

If you need arguments just go to their website - if you're like me it won't convince you either though indeed, yes.

Never make Trades based on Fear ,

All Crypto is Speculative , don't put more into any coin than what you are willing to lose.
If you are that fearful, you have too much of your money in that 1 coin.
