I am actually not happy with SMT. Without making the steemit site stable, secure and fast, launch of SMT is not a good thing. For most people steem is steemit and steemit is steem. It is clearly visible from the steem's price that market is not very excited about SMT..... What do you guys think?

Lately is failing a bit, maybe overcharged servers! Can they handle the high traffic?

What are the reasons for the down times?

Nodes failing and all. Developer stuff.

Ya, moving ahead is a good thing. But without fixing and upgrading the main and first product? Do you know how much time, energy and money people have invested in Steemit!!!

Have there been any updates on when Velocity will be released? I was just reading about it and it seems to be a huge upgrade for the platform, helping to facilitate onboarding and thus grow the community AND build the mobile application. Seems like a massive step forward but I've had a hard time finding anything about the timeline/release date.

Steemit.com is a keen and unique blog site among all social media platforms. Unlike facebook, steemit doesn't only provide you fun and advertising spot but it has power in all its activities.
I like the concept of steem power but i am confused on point how a single post can earn a person hundreds of dollars?
I am on steemit since 4 months with 500 followers, still not able to comprehend its strategy.

The more SP you get voting for your post the more you earn, simple as that.

hi team STEEM,
I do not see the dev team's information, where your roadmap, anything else ? I want to find them where to find ?
Before investing I want to know about the dev team to make sure I'm investing properly.

Hey, guys, those who like and hate Steemit.

Needs your attention.
I have been doing an investment research on Steemit project to detect red flags.
So far I have found some potential red flags:

1. Problems with mining at the launch may hide pre-mine maneuvers.
Why some many miners accounts?
https://i.imgur.com/6JLbdPs.png

2. Whales possess more than 50% of voting power, which makes the community biased and having a centralized censorship.

3. CTO resigned from the project soon after the launch leaving it underdeveloped.

4. Many accounts of founders

Any disproof? Any other?

Accounts are just accounts... just like different addresses Smiley

True that whales have that much voting power, but there are some whales that are community founded (compiled power, however still centralized)
That help out to diffuse that situation

These are known problems. Steemit is heavily centralized and that's why it fail in long term. They love censorship and they use their power for bad, not for good. Steemit will never be big enough as long as they have centralized, censored, pre-mined platform.

Haha, seems like you are pretty new on steemit. This is the demotivating phase which almost everyone has to go through. If you are posting good quality content, then people do vote. You just need to be patient, consistent, quality oriented and active on steemit by interacting with other member's posts.

Can take up to a week.....
