Well, now that's a big dream. You are surely not on Steemit, otherwise you would not have underestimated it so much. It's not going to 25 cents, unless a big black swan event occurs. You can expect it's price to rise in the coming months as new updates have started to roll in.

I really like Steemit as a information platform and am glad the curators and creators are paid in crypto and somewhat fairly.

There was originally mining but the developers found it too hard to guard against exploits and bugs and disabled it.

At this point the only ways are: 1. content (and get votes), 2. voting (curation), 3. operate a witness node and get witness votes.

Well the layout changes can be seen as an indication that the dev team is still working on Steemit. Some people see this as a way to distract users from the real steemit issues like speed and stability and some more. But the good thing is that users can except better changes from the steemit team now.

Realistically there can be no doubt they are still working on it. There are regular code commits from multiple developers nearly every single day for months:

Nevertheless, it is quite plausible to be disappointed with the rate of progress especially when it comes to issues such as stability.

This seems like a huge stumbling block if Steem wants to grow and add consumers/curators. I'm about ready to say the heck with it and give up. I was interested in creating content as well as investing in the STEEM token, but now I am having serious doubts.

Wow, i havent been on steemit for a while and when i just visited it now there is a complete new gui. Anyone knows when this happened? I think it looks amazing, very clean. Did they use React (a frontend lib) before the new GUI as well?

What are your thoughts of steem as a long term investment? I see that the supply will 2x each year, doesnt this mean that 100usd today would be 50usd in on year? I mean, it can not be expected that the growth will be 2x each year, not many companies constantly grow 2x each year. Or have i got it wrong? Would investing in Steem Power be a better investment if one believes in the steemit as a platform?

Yes, slow account activations is a big issue on steemit right now. It was mainly done to limit bot entries on steemit. You can probably ask for help here: https://steemit.chat/channel/help. They usually resolve it within 24 hours.

The new GUI was implemented around a week ago. Many changes are being done, and GUI change is just the start of it. There will be a lot of changes in UX as well.

As far as I’m seeing, it’s hard to spread your posts if you’re not already a well known steemit.
And due to the curations system people will vote in posts that will be heavily voted (meaning, from well known posters) and not for the content.

That is a bad thing with steemit. Some posts have more upvotes than views!! Something has to change here. People are after curations rewards and not content.

Well I totally loved the new design. Yes, there are some elements which can be removed like those random aqua lines. What I really didn't like is logo. It looks potato art!!

LOL, really you want us to download some random file which might be even malicious. No one needs bot, there are already a ton of them on steemit.
