Do you think Voice on EOS can be the successor of  STEEM?
I think Steem - maybe aren't dying but aren't developing fast enough for sure and I don't see too much reason to hope that it will change

Anyway I hope for some speculative gains on STEEM in next few weeks

I'm not too sure about that, I mean who would want to go through KYC, just in order to get access to their service?
Plus, Dan Larimer has a reputation of being able to hype up his projects very extensively, but usually only to leave them afterwards.

Now, the situation with EOS might be different, but I wouldn't bet any money on it to succeed just yet.

Finally another update regarding HF21, though there's not that much information given.
Well, it's good that they're focusing development on SMTs again.

China ranks STEEM 4th in the world

China updated its cryptocurrency rankings on May 23 — with eos retaining the top spot and bitcoin moving up three places. The government-sponsored index assessed each blockchain on three criteria: technology, application and innovation.

Read more: https://cointelegraph.com/news/chinas-latest-crypto-rankings-eos-retains-top-spot-bitcoin-in-12th-place

Any rating that do not recognize bitcoin in number one position is a shill rating.
Might a late reaction but i cant resist myself not to make any post regarding these kind of BS rankings.
They do place out BTC on the 12th spot and the top 5  EOS, tron, ether, steem & ontology. What a kind of rating on this one.
I agree on some projects but not putting btc?

Well, it all depends on what methodology they're using to issue those ratings.
I mean Bitcoin is far from perfect when it comes to certain aspects. If you purely look at transaction speed for example, then coins like Steem & EOS are clearly outperforming Bitcoin.

I'd be highly surprised if China considers decentralization as an important aspect for example.

I think it is true that steem is one of the most used blockchains out there but it is literally non existent in the minds of crypto enthusiast post 2017, would you agree with with and if so why do you think this is?

Yeah sure, but hype isn't everything. There is definitely a fundamental form of value present with the Steem blockchain.
You'd be surprised at how many projects are being developed on there.

Well, I think Steem lacks popularity because it has seemingly gone downhill ever since Dan Larimer left, Dan is generally extremely good at getting people interested in his projects, just look at EOS.

Mistakes have been made when he left, there wasn't any significant development for quite some time & there definitely has been some mismanagement of fund (look at the 70% lay-off of staff).
Things are getting better though, Steemit Inc. is communicating more, as can be seen here and they've hired some talented people to manage their company.

I suspect that Steem will slowly regain popularity in the future, especially when they launch SMTs. I definitely could be wrong, but it's a project that's very interesting from a technical point of view.

I think it is important to highlight the implementation of hivemind allowing nodes to be run at a significantly reduced cost.  This is going to be a huge deal for developers and witnesses moving forward.  It will also help STEEM remain decentralized and remove some of the power from Steemit Inc. which I know some people have had an issue with.  It has actually been out and running for a while now, but https://steemit.com/@exyle did a good job of covering all of these things as they were implemented.

Will Libra Help Steem, or Hurt it?

The release of Facebooks white paper on Libracoin has caused quite a stir. It’s a hot topic in the crypto and fintech world and I have read a lot of different opinions on the subject.

Check it out: https://steemit.com/steem/@paulag/my-thoughts-on-facebook-libra-coin-and-first-test-results-prove-it-will-benefit-steem

I agree that steem has lot of potential but unfortunately it is  not locked.

I am loving the Dapps/games created in steem.

What do you mean by 'locked'? I don't quite understand what you're trying to say with that?

Yeah, the different applications built on Steem are definitely an asset to the platform.

Ah yeah that makes more sense indeed Cheesy Yeah they haven't done too good in the marketing department.
They should really start thinking about telling the world about Steem, I mean they can have the most amazing features all they want, but if no-one knows about it, it's going to waste.
