If you compare this two miner software which one do you guys prefer and why. Wanna run this software on older desktop pc and laptop. My wife already run Minergate on newer laptop but so far I don't know the difference between this two programs.

i prefer nice hash, purely because it all get transferred into BTC automatically so you dont have to pay any trading fees. But running these programs wont make you alot of money. if you are lucky its a few dollars a week,

nicehash is better autoconversion and plenty of coin there less limited, also profit is higher because they control more hash, still it's better to mine etheruem

I'd like to mention that MinerGate is not just a service, where users can mine cryptocurrencies in order to exchange them for bitcoins. What we are focused on is driving the further adoption of cryptocurrencies by providing an easy-to-use service and software that can be used by anyone who has a computer. That's why we developed a GUI miner and implemented variable difficulty for effective CPU-mining.

That said, you can easily exchange the mined coins for a bunch of other coins (including btc), using an instant exchange https://changelly.com. You can even send an invoice to your MinerGate account: https://changelly.com/blog/introducing-invoices/

As for the hash rate, well, yes, we didn't manage to capture the entire Ethereum network on the third day after release. Please give us more time Smiley

i did use miner gate for a while and i was highly impressed with both the design and the smoothness. the flaw i found was the long wait times to transfer coins to the exchanges. usually due to the block chain of that coin being slow.

i only use nicehash because it easy to use and it will be converted right away to btc unlike minergate you need to set up by yourself, and the earnings from nicehash is completely acceptable.

Yes it is! It´s a little bit higher than mining in a normal pool

Just to be clear, at Nicehash you don't mine coins you mine contracts and are paid directly in BTC for your
hash. There is no coin exchange, orphans or luck involved. On the other hand there is no opportunity to
receive any other currency except BTC.

Conversely if you're buying hash you pay in BTC regardless of the coin you want to mine with that hash.

Thanks for that clarification Joblo!  I have been using MinerGate on my 2-3 PCs for about 2 weeks now and really like it because of the ease of use. I'm having trouble getting it to recognize my old NVidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti, which i will need to get resolved before investing in a GPU mining rig, but I have a note in to their support so...
 if
My main plans are to mine for XMR and Ether... probably holding the majority of what I mine (esp for XMR) so if I understand you right, Nicehash would really no be a good option for me to try since it automatically converts/pays out it BTC, correct?

That is correct, if you want to keep XMR you need to mine in an XMR pool with an XMR payout address.

for me, both software was work good in the past while i am mining. but i use both in the vps wit minimum spec, so i don't know how average per day. but when i am trying to mining in my pc, in nicehash, i only mining with lyre, i don't know why, maybe i only use cpu mining spec, in minergate, i only got hashrate in 21 h/s, yes its low i know, but i only on trial so i don't think the result will be good.

i think the result of hashrate will be different if i install vga cards, with only low budget vga cards, it coud make the hashrate increase to. so, my advice, when you want to run with both software, trying to use low budget vga cards, and don't use your pc or laptop, because it could be hot and its not good.

Quite similar to Mining Rig Rentals, there you set your miner and other person can buy your hash power. The time that your miner is free (not rented) you are mining in the pool that you want

Any updates on this topic?

as regards the forum, it seems like NiceHash has some continuity

NiceHash Miner

on the other side, MinerGate support is missing in action with many complaints unanswered

Minergate has a nice GUI, that helps newbies in their first days at mining.
But it's less profitable, less transparent than nice hash.
This send is an authority in the alt-coin mining field.

I liked using nicehash with ZEC, no conv. fees and seeing my BTC filling is just nice  Cool
After ETH PoS I might rejump back to it, but it will be with Dash or Monero I think.

Looks like to mine Monero on NiceHash you need an appart software provided by them:

Source:

https://github.com/nicehash/Specifications/blob/master/NiceHash_CryptoNight_modification_v1.0.txt

I dont know what a hell that mean: "....II. Concept
-----------

Because there is no no extranonce1 and extranonce2, for NiceHash to
properly work with CryptoNight, we need to cut off 1 byte of nonce for
NiceHash, the rest - 3 bytes are for miners.

Iterating through 3 bytes gives 256 * 256 * 256 ~ 16M possibilities. If a
coin has 120 seconds block time, that gives us 16M / 120 = 140k/s, which
means that a single miner can be as fast as 140 kH/s before things go
wrong (miner starts making duplicate work). Since CryptoNight algorithm is
very slow and best miners reach around 1 kH/s at max, it is safe to cut
off 1 byte of iteration for NiceHash.

Unfortunately, currently available mining software is not adjusted for
this modification. It is a simple modification, but has to be performed,
else miners would get shares above target.  "

This happens only if you use third part miners on their pool. Their software on their pool can be use out of the box.
This is the main reason why people use nicehash..

Can we use at the same time both software to mine?
I suppose the answer is yes...

But what about the CPU power?
Both of them can share the same CPU?
Can we succeed merging mining?

Why would you want to run both software at the same time ? Better for efficiency to run one or another. Sharing your cpu will result on less efficiency than using it only with one app. The app will max out your CPU usage to 100%, so the power used will be your max cpu power.

I tried MinersGate.

 Once.

Never could get it to work at all.

I have issues with the NiceHash software but at least it DOES work.

I used Minergate for a little while when I had my old laptop and I personally just didn't like the whole process and even though everything on the design was sleek I just didn't feel as if I would rather have a sleek design than more money in my pocket. Would rather recommend using nicehash due to the easy conversions and the really simple mining it allows.

Good luck!

nicehash has easy to use miner and they auto switch algo to get best profit...minergate doesn't do that..

also nicehash pays in btc and minergate pays in alt which you have to exchange to btc and you ll lose a lil on tx fees and exchange fees etc..

so imo, nicehash is the best..

im running nicehash on my gaming rig and making close to 30$ per week with a single RX480 and 4770k .. I mine eth+pascal on gpu and cryptonight on cpu..

I have msi godlike carbon motherboard with 3 nvidia gtx 1080. i used the pc mainly for gaming but then i decided to give a try mining (i was just curious about mining, not money oriented).
I tried both minergate and nicehash. Minergate has nice design and is perfect for beginners to understand how mining works, their api on site is just perfect(only sometime it has lags).
After mining with nicehash, i completely changed my mind about minergate.
Nicehas has like 10-15 algorithms for cpu & gpu and you can test all of them to see exactly how much money you can make daily, weekly.
I believe minergate is more shady than nicehash. With nicehash i was able to make 20$ in 24 hours continuous mining (cpu&gpu both) while with minergate i made only 11 and something (i mined xmr and bytecoin).
Also i like the fact that nicehash is open source and you can actually compile the program yourself

Did you compare your profit in nicehash with mining in another pool, for zcash directly for example?
It will be very interesting to post such results.

Also what miner do you have? For which cryptos?

I have been using Nicehash for quite a bit and I like their customer support and regular updates.
Moreover I do not have the time to analyze and mine directly the most profitable alt coin, therefore I rely on Nicehash determining for me which algorithm to mine (or sell hash power in this case).

However, if you have plenty of time, I'd strongly advise mining directly those alt-coins by yourself.

I dont think its been said enough but, stay away from minergate. They have higher fees and they are associated with the bytecoin scam. Check this out: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/4bx1td/im_just_gonna_come_out_and_say_it_minergate_is/

I see the both services give money, Minergate give more opportunity for altcoin, and Nicehash just pay you in BTC, right?

NiceHash gives much higher hashrates. Minergate seems to give less than you'd expect from a card.

Nicehash seems to be getting a bad rep around here in general.  A lot of folks are stating that you are effectively paying 20% in fees vs. 2-3% if mining altcoins directly.

I have been using NiceHash Legacy since it came out and was doing about $20/day on a 6x 1080Ti rig.

A couple of weeks ago I switched to EWBF Zcash miner on that rig using nanopool, mining Zcash to my Bittrex wallet.  Earnings are about the same, maybe with a slight edge to Nicehash actually.

Never used Minergate, but given how close NiceHash is to mining altcoins directly, even with the overhead of them managing the "hash power rental allocations", it does very well from what I can tell.

I am only 3 weeks into my mining adventure and I have binned MinerGate already. Started with it running on 2 home PC's, 2 home Laptops and 3 Android Samsung mobile phones... all together I was only pulling 190 H/s.

Now I have moved on. Upgraded my gaming PC with a Zotac GTX 1070 card and I have been running NiceHash for about 4 days now. So far so good. Ive pulled £8 in 4 days (with OC)

Going forwards, I'll be purchasing more GPU's and connecting them to NiceHash. Even further, I'll be aiming to build multi GPU rigs and pool mining. But thats a long way off at this time.

NiceHash > MinerGate.

I had this, Tried to run NiceHash on my Core2Quad Q6600.... its not having any of it. I wouldnt CPU mine on anything lower than an i7 or Ryzen 7 and even then, I wouldnt be aiming high.

Needed a GTX 1070 card inisde my system before I could load NiceHash.

Minergate versus Nicehash...

The truth? Minergate just doesn't add up.. something is "off"... my opinion of course.

I started out with minergate about a month ago... 2 I7's, 1 I5, and a Ryzen 1700 plus a 1070, 1080 and an RX580

4 days of eth & monero got me approx $7.10

I turned the GPU's alone (no cpu's being used on nicehash) and did the same amount in about a day an a half on Nicehash. Nicehash outperformed minergate so much that I invested in 2 rigs, and am now pulling $25+ a day out of nicehash.

Something is just off... same set up, same electricity being used... completely different results. Its almost like my set up on minergate had some hashing power siphoned off.. like I was running 70% versus 100% of my hashrate being paid for on nicehash.

Another thing to consider is that Minergate built/owns?/is affiliated with changelly, their exchange, wherein you can exchange your altcoin for others, or btc... there is of course a fee. By the time you add up these fees, the miner gate pool fees, etc.. the 4% I pay nicehash to put my btc in my non nicehash wallet is bargain.

Lastly... as far as all of my computers are concerned? Minergate is a virus.. and it did constantly have to be uninstalled, and reuploaded to work. On one computer, it refuses to uninstall.. and I had to literally quarantine it finally. Minergate would start mining on my laptop, and I would have to manually make it stop. It did this several times. Nicehash? Not even a blip.. if you have nvidia cards, its was a simple download, benchmark, set up your wallet and start the miner.

I am looking to mine with the Nice hash with the multiple GPU cards with the two rigs buddy. There are no need to do the any additional work like connecting to the different pool or any works.
Please tell me What about the difference amount you can make with the Nice hash and other mining software like Claymore or bitminter.

Yaa I like NiceHash.
NiceHash Miner is a free desktop software that combines different algorithms for mining crypto-currencies and allowing transactions between them.

I have never tried minergate, so cant tell. As for nicehash, i have very positive experience. They may not pay the most, but they are rock solid and you get paid in btc, so no hussle and fees converting. Pretty much set and forget.

I also like nicehash. They are convenient in that their software works automatically and does not cause any inconvenience. But lately they constantly spread not thorough software. I have often used the old software. But perhaps this is due to the fact that I don't know how to set up a new. I used to set enable and forget.

I know how much people hate Minergate, but it's always treated me well. Used it on and off for a couple years now. I've only had issues w/ a single payment a while back, but I hit up support, funds were eventually sent back (granted it took a while), and the next attempt worked just fine. When I knew nothing at all about mining, Minergate worked flawlessly. When I got into GPU mining (started w/ small ASIC and CPU mining) and I was almost about to start having nightmares about config files and the like, Minergate worked fine. Weird random problems repeatedly shut down XMR-STAK, Minergate works fine. I have much less experience w/ Nicehash, but I have used it and like it fine (had an unexpected crash or two). Did not, however, notice any significant difference in returns on the same rig. FWIW

My Minergate got hacked. few months hardwork gone.
All my XMR in account balance transferred to another account.
The hacker can simply disable the 2FA.
And there was no email confirmation needed to transfer your account balance.

After c nicehash is in trouble there are many upstarts. All they want is to take the place of nicehash but they do not work. They were the best of its kind. I still hope that they will find the strength to recover. I'm even willing to invest in them if necessary. We have no choice. Just have to wait.

The main problem is that they still use expressions such as "your money," your loss, "etc. Still do not see that their money has been stolen.

I think NiceHash I am new to mining and at the time that I was about to start mining NiceHash got some issues, and so I have no other alternative but MinerGate. I'm using it until now and got no problem. Btw, I've downloaded Speccy v1.31.732 (by Piriform) to monitor what's happening inside my rig.

Nice hash so bad, I was using my money and my time to mining some HBC coin on their mining plaform. But so long time to withdraw my balance, that time i was so crazy.
