Curious as to how many people are building DIY or home brewed GPU rig frames and what they look like. I designed and built a couple from designs I spotted on Ebay.

What did you do?

I use a wire shelf like this one;
http://www.triboroshelving.com/chrome_wire_shelving.jpg

I can easily fit 15 GPU per level. With box fans i could probably do 18 GPUs.

That's not CUSTOM....its literally an off the shelf product...I'm asking for custom made ones. Thanks.

Oh i'm sorry. How do you plan on taking a wire rack and mounting GPUs on it "off the shelf"? I used a rack as base. You used a aluminium sheet. Thats as far as it take you.

What do you do after that? They're both as much "off the shelf" as the other.
I have those rig frame exactly like your's, its as simple as assembling legos. There is a lot more DIY involved in using wire shelves as base.

Are you interested in having, actual, constructive conversation on how people built their frames to mount mobo, psu and GPUs or are you just trying to show off your copy pasta rig and verbally attack people who are more open minded than you?

Somebody should post some custom GPU frames where you can exhaust the heat outside. Never mined in the summer before with GPUs.

I think you could build a open rectangle and stuff the whole lineup with 20inch box fan. From there i'm not sure, you'd need a massive amount of airflow. Maybe push the air into an attic or something, and have some massive CFM metal fan as in and out?

After adding support beams to my wire shelf, i was thinking of pushing all the hot air to one side of the room(side with open window) and have positive pressure in the apartment so the air would all rush out from the open window. For the noise and directing the airflow i was thinking of using acoustic panels to form the "rectangle" i mentioned.

You mean something like this? Screen stapled over the door frame to keep out the bugs. Florida heat...we are seeing 90+ during the afternoon. Temps never go over 65 on the cards.

Yeah something like that however the neighbours can probably see all that so I am looking for something a little more private.

Something to exhaust the heat thru a vent hose.

Something to exhaust the heat thru a vent hose.

So using my frame built out of the wire shelf;

I put it against the wall and i'm pushing the hot air toward the window. Here is a rough idea for that setup which is effectively the same as mine;

12kW to 6.6kW

Yellow is temporary "wall" personally i'm using acoustic panels where i can. Green is the GPU area which would be one wire shelf with multiple levels. Arrow is airflow. The opening is ideally a huge window that fit 20" fans or bigger or a doorway. Mine fit 18"*44* so i'm good for two boxfan and i'm dumping upward of 10kW outside.

From the outside you see 2 box fan and thats it.

Curious as to how many people are building DIY or home brewed GPU rig frames and what they look like. I designed and built a couple from designs I spotted on Ebay.

What did you do?

I went to your website to check prices.

2800 for a custom 120 mh rig

that pulls 110 watts.

I went old school.

2 r 390 power color on sale at amazon for  625
1 corsair 760 plat psus on sale            for    99
1 120 gb ssd on sale                           for   65
1 480 gb ssd on sale                           for   110 good sale and an up grade part for selling the miner
windows 7                                         for    50
a b75 mobo gigabyte                         for     75
a 2500t cpu                                      free
a 3570k cpu                                      for   200 -------will drop this in when I sell it as a used gamer/miner
an open rig case                                for   free
a corsair carbide case                         for  99     ------- will put all parts into this case
2 4gb sticks of ram                            for  40

so 55mh using 475 watts   for  944

and when I sell it used in a corsair carbide case   I will get 675 or so if I up grade to the bigger ssd the better cpu and the case.

As I have 4 to 8 guys that buy used rigs from me.

give me a minute  to photo setup.

Your idea of selling 2800 dollar rigs is also okay if you use btc only for payment.

here is one of four rigs mining

it will transfer here to case below  at roi  and be sold to a client.  so if he wants less upgrades I will sell it at 472 and I paid 944 but it does not sell until roi.  buyers all are guys I know  and I have done this for about 20 pc's.  so 944 becomes 1416 in 3 months or so

That photo that you drew, it is suppose to be rotated ? Because it looks like you have a window ceiling. Or I'm I looking at it differently.

Hey, like the idea, nice that there are people out there making a little business out of this Smiley Wish you all the luck with that!

Just a small thing, maybe you could be a little more competitive, you could opt to lower your prices a little bit.

If i would be interested, i could get the same amount of hash, also prebuilt, for 200EUR cheaper.
Although, have to say, the cards presented here are older and it would have to be shipped from Europe, wouldn't be as interesting for people from the US..

Good job none the less!

Unfortunately, I don't have something a clean and nice looking as you. My GPUs are mounted on Lego buildings. I have only three for the moment, so it works, but it will be soon a big problem once I will have received the missing ones.

Get some wood, like i did, build em yourself. You'll even have fun doing it Smiley
