I still believe Bitcoin is the major player, it is more widely accepted. Ethereum is now the second altcoin, but still very young, I only bought into Ethereum to do some trading to increase my Bitcoins  |

Ethereum as early bitcoin, they are in conditions that peaked at the beginning. and bitcoin is being boring. but bitcoin is not replaceable by any coin.

BTC remains king, but with so many questions regarding scalability, governance, soft fork/hard fork, you can't blame anyone to look at alternatives. Also, when there's mystery about Satoshi, everything's clear with Vitalik Buterin, who is a young guy with a sharp mind. If BTC were to fail, the successor will be Ether.

I think they are complementary and that any good long term crypto portfolio should have substantial exposure to both

Bitcoin and ethereum are two different platforms, it is sure that lots of speculators and investors will be devided between eth and btc till future but i don't see any reason for bitcoin to go zero and eth to be prime. Ethereum will be popular for smart contracts (may be) and bitcoin will always be great crypto payment solution.

The answer to this is 'time will tell.' None of the ALTcoins stand a chance against Bitcoin. But I see a great future for Ethereum aswel because it has a good utilization but I see it very different than Bitcoin
You wouldn't know that. Just because btc is very much established now doesn't mean it's gonna last forever. |

i don't have Ethereum and never buy these altcoin because my choice still bitcoin even some people said Ethereum have bright of future but no doubt that i still believe and still excited to using bitcoin and Ethereum will never replace Bitcoin not today and not in the future

Why?? Answer is very simple. Ethereum is a hyped coin and when the hype settles/gone then it's value is also gone.
Why i don't invest in Ethereum is that because of its infinite coins to be mined which is a major drawback according to my strategy.
Infinite?? Isn't it going to switchto POS soon? By switching to POS you will no longer be able to mine any more Ethers. |

Ethereum is popular now but it is not direct competitor of bitcoin. Their purpose is slightly different. I've seen many 'bitcoin killer' alts in the past and none of them survived enough.
Someone could say that Litecoin is technologically better than Bitcoin - so why it is not more popular or priced higher?
I agree. Ethereum with smart contracts is different than BTC and it will not be a "bitcoin killer". |

I agree. Ethereum with smart contracts is different than BTC and it will not be a "bitcoin killer". With smart contracts, it is more useful than the bitcoin. It can be a currency as well as a fuel for the smart contract system. |
