If the block size of the bitcoin is increased to 2MB or higher in the next 6 months, it will still be the Number one.

as long as bitcoin still alive, then ethereum will not have a chance to be bitcoin. bitcoin is bitcoin, ethereum is ethereum. bitcoin is like mother of all cryptocurrency and this can be replace by other coins. let we wait and see in future what will be happen, shall we?

Ethereum has a good future and it can be said that it is the only competitor now for bitcoin.bitcoin will remain dominant irrespective of any new altcoin coming in nearby future.

Totally agree with your opinion dude. Therefore all is something that will not be likely to happen if the ethereum will overwhelm the market cryptocurrency for bitcoin is a digital currency that is already used by many users and their preferred way of working bitcoin. because the company is not standing bitcoin (unknown author) so it's going to make safe the user bitcoin because all confidential data that exists in the bitcoin it is extremely difficult to steal

The Etheruem has a very strong development team and good community. So it will be a good competitor.

To be honest. With Rootstock making such steep progress recently I wonder what benefits Ethereum will offer in the future. There seems to be a lot of support recently for rootstock and it is not an altcoin but builds directly on Bitcoin: https://twitter.com/slushcz/status/795744821717692416

I actually see a bit of an advantage for Rootstock as Bitcoin has more users and Bitcoin does not need to hard-fork if Rootstock is being attacked.

I still would choose for the bitcoin because its more used plus its also that its more popular and has due to that a better future if I look at that.
Predicting is hard but that is just my opinion.

Yep, now Ethereum is a good competitor for Bitcoin, but only till time when China or other big country will release their own national cryptocurrency. Then the time of altcoin will ends.

I don't think so. The demand has caught by crypto, and I think, the government can think a twice for that. Although, the government can manipulate the market if restrict the civilians and the primary for using the national coins.
And how they used the core system? Blockchain? Or something a new one.

I think it will be Blockchain. I can not find actual informations, but i found something like that:

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/chinas-plans-launch-currency-might-affect-bitcoin/

I'm sorry if someone thinks that it is off-top, but this currencies can make problems. I don't think that for Bitcoin, but for alts for sure.

so far your ethereum coin has been going down, and even though i think it will have a pump or two in the future but i am convinced now that it is going to die soon.
and what you said about China or other countries releasing their own national cryptocurrency doesn't even make sense because if it is restricted to one country then there is fiat for that and there is no need for cryptocurrencies and if it is again restricted to one country nobody will use it ever because one of the reasons why we use crypto is because of its easy global usage.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Ethereum is popular now but it is not direct competitor of bitcoin. Their purpose is slightly different. I've seen many 'bitcoin killer' alts in the past and none of them survived enough.
Someone could say that Litecoin is technologically better than Bitcoin - so why it is not more popular or priced higher?

Because many people are well establish in bitcoin rather than litecoin and look at what status of litecoin now i think its going to trash and maybe it will be dead soon same as there furom are being hacked, eth must not compete to bitcoin if it dont want to be die just what like happen to other altcoins, although eth is keeping rising for today and still it cannot compete to bitcoin.
Ethereum is written in a Turing Complete Language - Bitcoin was written in a stack based language that isn't Turing Complete.

A Turing complete language means anything can be done with it given enough time and enough computing power.

This means that Ethereum has a broader base to build on and a broader market to enter - as it isn't locked to being a value transfer ledger - which is where the analogy of ethereum as a tcp/icp in comparison to bitcoin as your email comes in. Although Bitcoin could be built upon to allow the functionality that Ethereum has.

Bitcoin is here to stay only if because of the sheer amount of users... But I see nothing wrong with having altcoins as part of online currency options.

If anything, advances from alts like lite and eth have only made Bitcoin stronger and vice versa.

This projects cannot be compared directly. Bitcoin is a payment service provider, Ethereum is a platform for decentralised applications (DAPP).
They can coexist, each performing its functions.

This is no debate here, Bitcoin off course but it is not to say Ethereum is rubbish. There is a reason why people valued ETH at price close  $1 billion marketcap and remember 3 days ago Golem a project built on ETH platform also raise $7 million in less than 30 mins.

i prefer with bitcoin rather ethereum because bitcoin have a good value in future and its been proof by now when the price is go up slowly but sure. i think its too far for ethereum to be a competitor for bitcoin.
