anyone thinking about this, i think it might be time to take lottery to keep up whit big enterprises.
Just hardware unit soloing .
its time, no more gear will come out that is worth of buying. unless sp50.. but that we allt know that it wont happen.
For other part, tech has advanced alot thanks to btc mining.

I'm in solo with 2 my S7s until block reward halving. It's my last chance to get 25 BTC. I hope I am lucky enough.

I have been thinking about this with my two S7's as well, but kind of wanted to get the max out of them to get close to ROI before the halving.
Still not sure what to do.

How much are you earning daily? I was thinking about starting mining with S7 put the shipment and tax would be to much for me.

Connect up to solo.ckpool.org if you're looking to solo mine, CK only takes 1% of the block reward, you keep the rest I've been thinking about connecting a miner up again and using it to mine on ckpool, any rewards back I'd auto donate them to the projects on my site. Seems like a worthy and fun thing to do!

It doesn't matter at all if I find the block. 0.035$ actually.

Whats the odds of actually hitting a block with just one s7? Im imagining the chance is zero - none? It would be nice if you did hit one but by the time you work out what your going to lose if you fail to hit when mining solo it might not be worth the risk?

This is the last difficulty change - Jun 21 2016 - 1,499,324,110 GH/s was approx network on hashing. So S7 4.73 GH/s for a single one running. If my math and numbers are right 4.73 / 1,499,324,110 = 0.00000031548% as a percent to hit a block on the 21st (hash rate has went up a little since then). To put this against something in lotto looking at powerball you have around 1 in 292 million shot. 1 / 29200000 = 0.000003425% (again assuming I did not make any errors here) S7 - 0.00000031548% PB - 0.000003425% If my numbers are right you have a better chance just buying hitting a powerball jackpot. So practical to solo with 1 S7?.,,, no but I'm sure some still will just like people play lotteries thinking of the fun if you do hit it. math is way off. first mistake is 4.73/ 1,499,324,110 needs to be 4730/1,499,324,110 once you get that number. .0000031548 multiply by 144 you get .0004542912 multiply by 10 = 0.004542912 chance for 10 days of hashing take and divide it be that number 1/0.004542912 = 220.123 to 1 for 10 days of an s-7 .compare below and you will see we are close due to rounding errors. here is the easy way. the blue highlight is normal luck earnings in a day for an s-7 0.01129 simply divide 25 by the number you get 2215 to 1 to hit a block in a day so he will do it for about 10 days so his chance is 221.5 to 1

There was some error's in my math enough so I deleted post. Did not want someone to look at it and use it possibly after seeing my error's.(it is quoted above for those who want to see it and need a laugh for the day)
Thanks phil for correction!
*Edit I should also thank for your easy way it is much more elegant
"simply divide 25 by the number you get 2215 to 1 to hit a block in a day so he will do it for about 10 days so his chance is 221.5 to 1"

It is easy to do the gh to th error I have often done it. That is a 1000 to 1 error The idea that 144 blocks per day means 144 shots at a block when solo mining. that is a 144 to 1. Since most of us solo-mine a day or more at a time. So 1000 x 144 = 144,000 x 1 was your error! Don't feel bad I have made some truly wild math errors here and there on the site. Sometimes auto correct would really f-up things. usd becomes used gh becomes th tons of other errors due to auto correct.

a nogo for me. because there is a possibility of electricity problem, plus the block reward is halving/halved; unless the price of bitcoin increases and/or your electricity goes low. that's why i don't wanna mine bitcoin without green electricity.

out of ability to use the signature, i want a new ban strike policy that will fade the strike after 90~120 days of the ban and not to be traced back, like google | email me for anything urgent, message will possibly not be instantly responded i am not really active for some reason

I would not use antminer S7 even if I was given for free.
I mean with the halving and difficulty increasing, I do not see much profit coming from the machine.
You can hardly get by on a S9...

Too little hashrate for a solo to actually be anything but a lotto device with going forward that you are WASTING the money and only by the very slim chance would you see anything come back.
I know I can't justify it at my more "regular" electricity rate. I personally have ran lotto mining equipment but a S7 blow's all I have used away. I did U3's for a few month's with Crazy Guy's firmware on a R1 it was not bad and did not cost me much to run. I got a lot of my money back selling them after but I got a few month's to play with 3 I believe. At the same time I also used compacs they are great and I used very little power with them even with Y adapter and OC'ing. I sold most of them to I kept a prototype, review copy, and one production copy. Sold the rest as I just was losing interest of watching them after a while. Which is great as they moved on to new homes where people can enjoy them. I find lotto to be fun idea. But I just can't justify it personally with any sort of decent sized BTC machine.
