m main things that cause massive amounts of data be hidden and stored.

1  system restore check points
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/5482/make-system-restore-use-less-space-in-windows-7/
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/delete-restore-point#1TC=windows-7

2 and 3  hibernation mode and sleep mode https://www.tekrevue.com/tip/comparing-sleep-hibernation-and-hybrid-sleep-on-windows

Only need to do a system backup here and their unless really need to. Never used restore point as not needed in many years. Lot simpler to just make a recovery disc. Hibernation and sleep mode often caused me problems when mining or coming back to system so I 1 keep running and leave running or 2 just close system down. 1 of the 2 or even both use up hdd space.

Use a program called TuneUp Utilities now know as avg tune up. Shame avg took over it but still does the job at kill tuns of stuff and also safely removes lots of stuff including the above and also windows updates that is left behind after doing normal windows updates as it creates a restore point. Will be surprised on how much data gets gobbled up by the above. Hope you solve ya problem

Scan it with malwarebytes to see if anything pops

The culprit is probably windows update files. Windows is downloading updates and keep some of them stored on disk even though they are installed.
There was special Win 7 update to Windows Disk Cleaner available which fixes this problem and you could delete those files.
But it is not mandatory update, and some Win 7 simply don't have this installed. Check yours.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2852386
I doubt it was windows update, he would need speedy internet to have 15gb lost in just a second

I suspect either the system restore keep bloating his hard drive or malwares

This. Most likely malware. Malware bytes and Spybot should clean most of it up. Be careful what you download from now on..

You might have gotten hit by a Virus.Try to use Advance system care and do a full scan but before it Goto search in start menu and type " %temp% " and delete everything only 1 file wont get deleted as far as i know skin it if needed then See.

Even if it didn't fixed the issue transfer some Space from other drives to C drive

install avira antivir and remove any other virus scanners

use ccleaner to clean them files and windows cleaning utility. right click on the windows disk - properties- tools cleaner Cheesy

also defraggler another tool has a menu that shows the largerst files on disk.

If you are downloading torrents that might be the issue with incomplete files taking up the space.

One culprit can be windows update. Microsoft started downloading for you in background Windows 10, in case you ever want to install it. That's 4GB, I think.
If you use Bitcoin Core, that's trying to get you the whole blockchain. That's another 80GB. Where to? Depends on how you configured the install. Maybe you should use a light wallet.

OK, that might not be the case. But I would monitor internet bandwidth usage from now on.
It is the only way to see if that additional data is coming from downloads or is created by some sort of malicious malware or dumped by some program running in the background.
For monitoring your bandwidth I would recommend GlassWire.

Everyone given so many solution. Did the OP paid the Tip  Wink

Lolzz. no one gave me a valid solution yet. do you have any?

In the beginning when I started to use window 7, the same problem was also with me, but sooner I found that it is because of automatic window update, whenever an automatic window update occurs you will notice in your programes/file from cpanel that there are some programes (beneficial programes by microsoft) installed on your PC.
So I found it beneficial but as the space on my disk was lower I disabled automatic updates and after then I did not faced any problem like that.
my automatic windows update is already disabled from beginning. this isn't the issue with me.

The other solution is that, from your cpanel in your programs, with each update you will find some repeated programs (like you will see a number of versions of C++ and .net, so to keep the space free try to remove the older versions after each updated version is installed.

I hope it will help you.
Thanks.

You are right. I've checked programs and there were two versions of c++ installed. but the size of c++ is only 11 mb and I already told you guys that I've lost 20GB extra. and still eating my space. why no one is listing me and just posting the same solutions.?

Sounds like a possibly worm or malware infection. Download some free software to clean it up

no thanks. I am already hunted of these free softwares and you are suggesting me again..

Disk defragmenter should be a utility, You can use it to clean up the disk for extra space

Yahoo already suggested me that. and I did it but I din't got my lost 20gb back.

Same as my problem but I got the solution, Just put %temp% in run terminal and delete everything in this folder, after this restart your computer and you will see a visual change in your C drive.

Thanks.

I already did this. but didn't recovered my lost 15 to 20 gb back. tell me some solution about that. and I am still loosing my disk space.

well try help you.hope it will work for you.see the step below how will you do:

step 1:
delete system restore points.
this is the most important  step
go computer > properties > system protection > chose drive C then configure > delete > continue .done  Smiley

Done, nothing changed.. so sad. seems that my problem is not gonna sold.

I am using Eset Nod32 antivirus. search in google for know about it. I can't give screen shot.

**Thank You everyone. but My problem is still exist.. I am doing all these things you guys suggesting here. but today morning I again lost 2 GB space which I got by deleting temporary files. suggested by traderbit.

Try this:

1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTKTRe4JNZA

If this don't work then:

2. http://www.partition-tool.com/resource/c-drive-is-out-of-space.htm

If it is not working then your hard drive is dying and you'll need to replace it. It's a common error.

I recommend using this as a solution, it freed up 4g of space.

And its gone.

Looks like your trash hidden folder is full of shit and/or temporary files flders are full of shit.

Try to unveil the hidden folders (Total Commander may help) and delete them.

Folders like

TRASH-1000.

System Volume Information

can be the cause

Also

all TEMP and tmp folders or files can be deleted.

Good luck!
