I recently tested out a new online game, and asked if Bitcoin could be added as a payment option. My post were deleted and I was banned from posting, because according to them, I spammed. This was my first and only post on their forum. " This is an automatic message sent by the Forum Administration to inform you that you have been banned from using the forum for spam until 20 May, 2017, 8:04 AM UTC. For further information please contact the forum administrator/moderator." < 1 Year Ban > For posting about Bitcoin. I searched their forum for the term, "Bitcoin" and found this feedback from someone else, asking the same question. http://plarium.com/forum/en/total-domination/suggestions-and-feedback/topics/suggestions-and-feedback-4/I quote : "As for your suggestions: 1) We are currently not considering the idea of integration with Bitcoin system, and we accept only legal payment methods, which are regulated by law." Someone from BitPay or Coinbase should approach these people and explain to them that Bitcoin are regulated in most countries and have been accepted as a legal payment for years now. Edit : Plarium is an international game development company specializing in mobile and browser games. Our studios are located in the USA, the UK, Israel, Ukraine, and Russia, and consist of over 1,000 employees. These talented professionals create games that are played by more than 250 million users across 150 countries.

lol, that is a stupid way of reacting! banning someone who says bitcoin you should direct them to steam and tell them to look at their payment options which includes bitcoin, I have never heard of the link above but everybody has heard about steam. they are not better than steam so there is no reason to shy away from bitcoin. ....Bitcoin are regulated in most countries ...
is it really regulated in most countries? do you know which countries are these?

I doubt if this list has anything to do with the regulation of bitcoin in those countries. coinbase is not the representative of bitcoin it is just another service which is based on US laws (located in San Francisco California) so that might be the reason for such a list and they just offer service to places they see fit.

They do have at least 1 EU registered subsidiary: Coinbase UK Ltd (reg No: 09083955), and by providing services in foreign countries, they're obliged to follow applicable laws (not just US law).

It's a bit surprising having a gaming platform operator reacting like this. I was under the impression, that people from this business sector would live a little closer to the frontier of innovation...
Apparently misinformation and threats from government and their mainstream media puppets had some effect. Hopefully these guys will have a chance to learn the truth from a neutral and patient source in the near future, because it might soon become a tangible competitive advantage in the gaming business to accept cryptocurrencies.
However the story is also a potential reminder not to be too "positively aggressive" when talking about Bitcoin, because it might have the opposite effect on those already intoxicated by propaganda.

maybe the country that this gaming platform is located at doesn't have bitcoin friendly laws, it can be one of those asian/middle east countries that don't really like bitcoin.

Coinbase and Bitpay should care, because it's another platform where millions of online gaming players will be paying extra fees to them to process their transactions and also fees for other services. If one large gaming platform like this accepts Bitcoin, the rest will follow. This game are ideally suited for Bitcoin, because they sell in-game resources as bundled packages to progress through the game quicker. I see they have loads of other payment options listed, so I am acctually surprised by this response. I think they do not understand the way payment works... They do not have to deal with Bitcoin, because the payment processor convert all Bitcoins for them back to fiat... I agree with you... these guys needs education.

Well I wouldn't say Plarium is a large gaming platform, but they are somewhat sizeable, so I'll give them that.
As for them banning you about asking about Bitcoin, I'll admit that seems kind of strange, and I'm confused as to why the thought that would be their best choice and course of action. I guess if it was in their ToS it should seem like something you'd be expected to know, but that doesn't warrant a ban in my opinion.

The small payments required for these online games can eat up a lot credit card/SMS fees. I guess not enought demand from users, but Plarium loosing the most as they must really pay high percentage of incomming credit card and SMS income in form of fees. Less profit for them, but I dont think they would get many Bitcoin payments unless they give their users additional incentive to pay with Bitcoin - but even with discounts when paying with Bitcoin, it would still be win situation for both, users and Plarium.

I think they underestimate bitcoin with other payments method which rise everyday or they are quite noob who don't like to search about bitcoin word. But i am sure they will knock the door of bitpay or coinbase to accept bitcoin after few months or year.

I wouldn't totally blame them because they do own the game and they do have the right to not accept bitcoin as a form of payment. The way they reacted however is kinda unprofessional.

I think, we should all petition this service to accept Bitcoin as a payment method and use Steam as an example, to show them that Bitcoin is seen as a legal tender for goods and services. If enough people ask for this option, they might just reconsider their aggressive approach to Bitcoin.

Looks like they don't want to increase their sales? Bitcoin enthusiasts will be gladly happy if they will accept bitcoin which will result to more players, and more ingame purchases transactions. Every side is good for them, so i bet that they have a valid and strict reason thats why they don't accept it.

My guess is that for sure all countries from Coinbase list (+ few more): https://www.coinbase.com/globalInteresting is that Germany is not supported by Coinbase.. This is unfortunately reality as BaFin, the supervising authority in Germany for financial operations, requires Bitcoinexchanges and businesses trading this currency to obtain an expensive banking license. As always, here is everything dead-regulated.
