Indicator to inform readers that a post has been amended

On vBulletin forums, there are options to indicate to readers whether a post has been "Edited", and readers have the option to view the history of that amended post, the post author also has to key in a reason for amendment.

Suggest that Bitcointalk admins implement a similar mechanism.

Do you notice the dotted underline below Today at 06:16:57 PM? If you hover your mouse over it you will be able to see the time of Last edit.

You will only be able to see the time of the last edit made. (IIRC past contents of an edited post and edits made can be viewed by a person with administrative privileges)
However if you made the edit before around 5 minutes after making the post, it will not show up.

Me either.  I just tested it and I'll be damned...  It works.  Now I may have to actually proofread my posts before I hit the post button instead of editing them all immediately afterward.

EDIT:  Just showing it works.  Umm....  I guess it doesn't work in every section.

Interesting, didn't know about the grace period. It really should be more obvious than the dotted line but there is another thread about that:

EDIT: Sounds like its more visible in the new forum.. and I'm testing the grace period on this forum!    10 minutes it is...
