I find almost all threads/postings from people with ad campaigns in their signature have such an extremely low content, that I would like to see a button to ignore them all at once. Please ...

Thanks. That will help a lot already! (despite you being on that list, too)

Actually no, he isn't. Check the January update and the list of the people at the bottom who were removed from the list. But I am so you will probably not see this post if you have already applied it.

Your request has already been answered so let me propose a different approach: take the Signature AdBlock script by grue and patch it (or request a patch) so it blocks not only the sig, but the post as a whole. Ok, it's not a perfect solution because you'll miss some substantial posts that happen to sport a sig, but maybe you hadn't considered this and it may be a reasonable option to you.

I'm pretty sure he is looking to find a way to ignore all the low-quality users.
That would be a nice feature, lol. That's if only it's possible. Tongue

It would end up pretty complicated.

Suppose theymos comes up with an algorithm that beats Google's that groups all the low-quality users and adds the feature, and a low-quality user clicks the button, will he ignore himself? Will it be like he is banned forever or will he be able to unignore himself? How will ignoring himself affect his Real Life...

What if all the low-quality users end up meaning all the users of the forum? Will the forum self-destruct?

Too many questions. I think we should change the topic.  Grin

In turn can we get a button to ignore people that fill this way about signatures?
Would not want to waste their time or my own having to respond to each other in a public forum, when it would just be rubbing each other the wrong way. Cheesy

Okay. Two forums - one with sigs and one without. but I still prefer this one. Grin

Sig haters can choose to block signatures through settings but the posts will still be there. May be it is possible to come up with a feature that removes the post along with the signature - but won't the conversations be disconnected from each other?

Ignoring himself sounds a bit silly, IMO. Low-quality users can still participate in any discussions, but neither of us can see their posts. It's like they are invisible around the forum, and discussing all the matters by themselves( or just ban them altogether). Grin

Will it be like he is banned forever or will he not be able to unignore himself?
FTFY. Either of them sounds good. Tongue

How will ignoring himself affect his Real Life...
Real life will start ignoring himself as well. Tongue

What if all the low-quality users end up meaning all the users of the forum?
Well, then there is no reason for this forum to exist anymore.

Will the forum self-destruct?
Perhaps.

Too many questions. I think we should change the topic.  Grin
I think you missed out the main question(s). How do we define high-quality or low-quality users?

Life sucks.

Its really a half baked idea and creates more problems due to the people using ignore lists making echo posts which would get a signature wearer in trouble. It creates a double standard but I like these people doing this because it communicates how shortsighted they are in addressing issues. Signature bias plagues so many here and they think it gives them the right to spit on people that wear one.

The people that have called me out so far have been lacking in English or even worse posters than the people they accuse of spam. Yet it is encouraged to attack signatures where ever people see fit.

If people are determined to put this weird  bubble up that states how little they understand public intercourse so be it.
Reflects on them more than the signature,so have at it.

How hard could it be for you to take a bit of time and ignore users one by one depending on their post(s)?
Ignoring all users with signature campaigns or using someone else's ignore list is not always the best choice as you might find some users ignored by the feature (another user) not very stupid after all.

Trusted an exchange that climbed to the top 3 in just under 2 years with your money? you are fucking stupid.

We will have weird looking threads with disconnected conversations.

Better to launch a nospam.bitcointalk.org on invite-only basis for good quality posters like me. Grin

For the survival of the forum, we should dump the concept. Spammers will be unemployed.

Almost all? Least you are not full on biased, way to keep that door open in case you need to back pedal a little bit.
I find you to be very low content as well,so it is a mutual feeling right back you! Wink

Sometimes I check back and show ignored postings. Almost all of them are writing senseless stuff, like "Bitcoin will remain an eternal secret and its creator is watching this forum" (add some extreme grammar errors for the real experience). It is obvious, that these comments are posted only for sig spamming and not to contribute something (at least funny) to the topics, like Lauda does.

So, thanks again Lauda and Danny. This forum is a better place with the ignore list Cheesy

Low quality has taken on a new meaning in this forum. As long as you drone on and create lazy sentence after lazy sentence, somehow having more characters in your post means it's not low quality.  It's fucking low quality if I have to read the same reply to a question 15 different ways that are a paragraph long. You can easily have a constructive post that is concise.

An "ignore all" function won't solve the original problem of "low quality" posts.
