Bitcoin Touched $500 just now

Bitfinex BTC/USD reached 520$ briefly which I assume is the new year high? Bitfinex seems to be leading the race of this price rally, I wonder why that is.

And isn't the price in bitfinex always bit more than in other exhanges? I am not sure because that is the only one I keep my eye on but I think that is how it goes.

I was about to write that I agree with you mate, but a new jump to $515 in few minutes start to seem a promising possibility towards an unexpected level. Will the price reach $600 when May ends?

It's funny, I'm pretty unemotional when it comes to bitcoin, but this little pump is making me smile. We were jammed at 420-440 for the longest time and it didn't seem like we'd ever more. Now I don't think the halving has anything to do with this, but it might be people speculating on what they think the halving should be doing. So we'll see if this is sustainable.

I think the way China is pumping the price right now, they will most likely touch $600 if nothing changes. I only don't think it's enough to make exchanges outside China also touch $600 as the price difference right now is beyond insane! China is $50 higher than Bitfinex!!!

the price is much higher than 500 dollars per bitcoin at the moment and it seems that the price of the bitcoin is not stopping to grow, i hope the price will still keep on going up, i agree that the price is acceptable now

yes i see prices continue to rise, even the china market huobi have a difference of about $50, I hope we immediately pursue $550

The whole pump may end as quickly as the last one, back in November.
Fundamentally nothing has changed since then. There is nothing to support a rally on a long term, other than halving hype and the usual price speculators.

This is actually insane, and I wasn't expecting this at all. I am now incredibly hyped for the coming month, we might be seeing insane values very, very soon. Some people on this board have been doing their research, and it's paying off for them right now.

I expect the market cap to be over 10 billion by the halving. I also expect 9 billion within 7 days from now.

we've hit 14 billion before, back in 2013, when the amount of bitcoin was less too.

I think we'll surpass that at some point in the next 10 months.

Price seems to be dipping a bit. There must be some profit taking.
But it has been a hell of a run so far.

this morning i woke up just to have my eyes pop out when i saw the $520 on preev. although i somehow expected it but it was nice to see the price rise first thing in the morning.

Yes I believe in here but I think less than 10 months is possible due to some bitcoin related major events that really has a nice breakthrough effect that can change the outcome of the whole.

Right you are hopefully on the next day bitcoin continues and develops.
I am also pleased bitcoin increase the price it was very good.

It's the huge price increase that causes the huge dump most of the time. So , the faster it goes up the faster it goes down.
For those who say it's because of the halving , I say it's not. I can tell you that a big amount of people who use Bitcoin don't know what the halving is and even if they did , I don't get the fact that they all suddenly start buying.
