To the contrary I think it is really great news that Iceland enters the main competition. It was a great and exciting match to watch. I don't understand why people underestimate the chances of the underdogs to a such great degree. Because of this effect that is not properly taking into account on statistical probabilities it makes generally more sense to bet smaller amounts on multiple less-favored teams than betting big on the favorite teams.

In addition I think that having smaller teams in the competition makes the matches much more interesting. The underdogs tend to play with more enthusiasm.

Nope , Portugal are still in the competition. They are currently on second place of the third-placing teams with 4-4 goal different . It will be enough because there only Sweden and Ireland to fight for third-placing teams .
Sadly that Albania are just be eliminated . They must be so dissapoint now because they celebrated “ like they've won the EURO ” when they beat Romania for 3 points.

Actually a draw enough for Belgium finished in 2nd place with 4 points while their competitors Rep. ireland need to win 2-0 to take Belgium place
If Rep. ireland only a 1-0 win was not enough, because the goal difference current position Ireland conceded 4 goals and scored 1 goal
otherwise Belgium scored 3 goals and conceded 2 goals so that Belgium is still ahead in the number of goals

Italy vs Rep of Ireland, this is most boring match in this competition so far imo, and it is the worst formation of Italy as well. Italy play just like an amateur team. It is OK that the last match will give no effect because they have qualified to next round, but what they show today is so bad.

What are those play-offs ? I've never heard of this anywhere. The 4 best 3rd of group are qualified and that's all.

Ireland won the game fair and square, thanks to italy backing down on this match now ireland is qualify for the next stage as well however they will be facing france soon and definitely france is not the type that will back down on this. The top 16 match actually consist of mostly of favourites teams against underdog
