Germany have always been good at shootouts and they managed to win this one, despite missing a few.

They missed 3 of the 4 first penalties, that was not a few.

Both teams did badly in the penalties(or the goalkeepers did too good, don't know)

They both did badly.  You can see the nerves and the pressure setting in.  Although I expected Italy to man up and push through, it was the Germans that did it.

I expected more from Italy when it reached the penalties as Germany had a better squad so the idea was to hold and get to penalties then try to win from there, breathing behind the Germans' necks pressuring them.  Too bad Italy lost the fire when it came to the occasion.  You can see some of the shots had no confidence when they were taken.

That match between germany and italy gave me cancer. What the hell was with their penalties? Both sides was half blind when they were shooting them.

Defenders are great however they almost won the game without going through the penalty shootout if they didnt make any foul that resulted in  penaltiy for italy. Thanks to ozil for his superb goal, germany was able to get the first scores which turned into their safeguard into not losing the game after the penalty

Germany and Italy both teams played very well. but if it ended with a penalty shoot-out is a matter of luck, and germany more fortunate. The both team also has the world's best goalkeeper. Germany has no consistency to me seems there will some kind of lack in performance.Germany had good lead of 1 goal in 2nd half for some time until Italy made come back.It was nothing wrong in full time play because this is what happens in tense and knockout level's matches.Germany doesn't looks very strong anymore after last match's performance.
