I hope that the price delta between 4/8gb versions won't be too large (like 199/229 USD). 8 gb of ram nowadays are useful for many algos, not just ethereum.
There are no algos that require 8gb of memory. ETH is the only algo that requires at least 2gb of memory, and should be enough until the end of the year.

yes, less power means also less heat. I wonder what speeds it will hit though, the miner needs to be modified to take advantage of new instructions too

My logic would be if AMD of Nvidia push a new coin by paying a few developers to build one they would want to make it really asic resistant and that the 1070 or r9 480 are much better to mine with. At this point I have 4 r9 nanos 7 r9 390s 1 r9 380 not sure what I will do next.

I wouldn't really care much about price for a card just as long as it is reliable and won't burn out in just having it on for 1 week straight 24/7 in a mining rig with a lot of other cards then having them fail one after the other. Just don't want the hassle of having to RMA them and losing valuable time. That you can not get back as easily as opposed to your money(in the form of a replacement) from a manufacturer's warranty.

It only has 2304 stream processors, a nano has 4096, how does this make it the same performance?
It's not about the stream processors, or the Nano would be an easy 50MH card as my R9 290s do 30. It seems to be a lot more about memory bandwidth, and per Genoil possibly TLB limitations even more. Also, on the power consumption - does ANY recent card mining ETH get close to it's TDP? IMO wait for cards in hand and REAL stats from testing/tweeking them before trying to claim which is better. 8-P As a general rule less power = runs cooler, as long as the fan/HS setup is equally capable or very close. Runs cooler USUALLY also means more reliable long-term, but there are a lot of variables in that - the R9 290 is NOT a cool running card but they're engineered to be tanks despite that, per many reports.

I all ready said they would in another posts a week or so a ago and next Nvidia will top that it goes on on cat and mouse time . but it seems to fall in AMD favor when the smoke clears and then it starts all over , amd and intel about to go at it maybe this time amd wins which is dreaming Intel has to much money but it's fun to watch.. and Corsair is coming out with there own GPU i guess there water cooling stuff paid off enough to take the risk ... Where is place or website if i will buy it after the product has be realised?
There is links all over the webb with a release date but i can't fine any site posting as out of stock yet like new egg dies most of the time . here is one review http://www.anandtech.com/show/10389/amd-teases-radeon-rx-480-launching-june-29th-for-199http://videocardz.com/60253/amd-radeon-r9-480-3dmark11-benchmarkshttp://www.newegg.com/ will Probable be one if the first to get stock and sell it with rebates .

It will be interesting for sure. It would be sweet to be able to expand with these vs my nanos that I currently run. The only issue will be getting a bulk quantity of these if they are as good as everyone is expecting.

We know nothing about mining performance, and they are late, that is why NV have premium price and all are sold, most ppl don`t care for mining at all

newegg usually doesn't start posting actual "sale" links, even with "out of stock" on them, more than a couple days before the actual release date of a new item. They SHOULD have GTX 1070 links start showing up any time now - release date TOMORROW. I wouldn't expect to see RX 480 links for a couple weeks or so, since it's not due for official release 'till June 29.

AMD has always been better than NIvidia?
nvidia provide faster optimized algo, unless you want to pay each time for a boost with amd, that was my experience nvidia only cost on average more, that's the only drawback, i like it more to be honest, it's good on any algo, while amd have same algo that are not optimized, and probably never will be if you dont pay one kidney probably...

AMD has always been better than NIvidia?
No. AMD has often been better on some things, worse on others, compared to NVidia - and if you go far enough back NVidia blew EVERYONE else out of the water for a few years (the video card division of AMD was still ATI back then and was better known for it's versitality (VGA Wonder line) than for high performance). Right now, we're in the early stages of a major generation/node change - it's hard to tell where AMD and NVidia are going to be once they get the entire LINE of new-gen cards out. Most likely, they'll be back to "AMD better at some things, NVidia better at others" again.
