But as long as there will be an existing bitcoin and the market cap of it is very acceptable. By future proof he mean a future securing currency. Maybe I will not be wrong. That's right until WWIII occur, mass banned among governments worldwide, the unacceptance of bitcoin towards new potential users, and the lost faith of bitcoin users against bitcoin. There's no such thing which could always survive in this world. Everything has its own point where it will eventually be dead. As for now, bitcoin already have some kind of competition with those newly developed altcoins and the competition happen in many sectors, not only the value of coins themselves.

makes sense really , altcoin have advanced technology to solve the fee problem ,
when bitcoin now still struggling to decide about blocks expansion ,
look at dogecoin , it has really really low fee compared to bitcoin ,

Well the only sure now is that bitcoin need to find easy solutions to handle the problems caused with the possible split into two different coins, as well split the community, we are stronger together. In the past i were sure bitcoin would stand for severals years, nowadays not soo sure.
