Correct. It uses the Amazon fulfillment service and integrates it with WordPress blogging software (which many websites use). It is not equal to Amazon accepting bitcoins; although it is a significant and material step in that direction.

Does this mean what I think it might mean???
Maybe. PayPal does not offer the same service that BitPay can, so we have to manually process any orders which are paid through PayPal. It means Gavin needs to get started on allowing the network scale to match PayPal's transaction volume right now, because the need for that many transactions will arrive sooner than anyone thinks is possible.

How does this works? Bitpay anticipates the money to amazon that ships? Doesn't seem that huge if so.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive: Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

No, Amazon did not, or do not need to, approve it because it is just a plugin to the WooCommerce plugin. Yes, Amazon knows about Bitcoin. Unknown whether they know about Bitpay.

Some background reading about how important the fulfillment business is to amazon http://www.wired.com/business/2013/01/amazons-future-not-selling-stuff/

"Remember too on every occasion which leads you to vexation to apply this principle: not that this is a misfortune, but that to bear it nobly is good fortune." - Marcus Aurelius

From the comments: "As a retailer that tried selling through Amazon, I can tell you Amazon ALWAYS sided with the customer in disputes. That's why we stopped selling on Amazon." Problem solved with Bitcoin. Now if you are selling through Amazon and accept bitcoins there is no risk of fraudulent transactions and you get to leverage Amazon's infrastructure! Win-Win....And Amazon gets to keep their sellers happy.

This manages to be both not all that tangible and a huge step for Bitcoin at the same time, lol! Here's hoping for even bigger things!
