Aren't payments sent as gifts irreversible? I had an offer to escrow for me last time I posted a similar thread (with Amazon payments)

If the gift was funded through CC, yes, it's reversible.

When the subject of buying BTC with Paypal comes up, I often remember this: 

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

If the gift was funded through CC, yes, it's reversible.

It would be funded through PayPal balance, but I guess there's no way to verify that?

Well, looks like I'm reduced to using eBay unless a trusting soul will escrow.

You would have to be willing to wait a very long time as the payment can be reversed months later. That's why many won't touch PP.

Yep. 180 day escrow to cross the point of no return. That's more of an options trade than an escrow. LOL
