So i've just started out bitcoin and I'm trying to learn how its used and etc. I've been using faucets to get some satoshi, but it seems like an inefficient process. Is it worth the time put in to explore and earn? Thanks!

If you are trying to use faucets to make money, it isn't worth it. If you just want some Bitcoin to learn the process of sending Bitcoin and to experiment with it, then using faucets to get some Bitcoin is fine.

No, faucets is a waste of time unless you just want a little money in bitcoins to start. For a method that really make money, I advise you to invest some Bitcoins, solve captchas or simply register on a Bitcointalk signature campaign after rising in rank.

For the first time, yes it looks like faucets are good but you will realize that it's really wasted your time and not worth it. Better don't do the faucets anymore.

Id say dont bother, you might want to try it just so you have something in your wallet to play with but you would be easier just buying a dollars worth to play with, My fried had spent days on end on various faucets and in that time earned next to nothing.

Not alone they are not worth it. Maybe you gamble the faucet money and hit it big for .01 or something but other than that it is a waste of time for micro pennies.

For me its not worth it.. but if you have a knowledge to make a website and make your own rotator using your referral links and promote it in many ways you can make a passive income it can help you to earn with out doing nothing..

It's normal for a newbie to have a thinking of doing faucet as worth the time. Even me back in my newbie days also started first to make some bitcoin thru faucet claimings. You will know the answer automatically once you keep on doing faucets everyday with lots of hours spend and noticed about your earnings receiving from doing such efforts.

Faucet is like PTC. its a waste of time to stay in the faucet and try to earn something. I advice you to join here in a signature campaign or to offer your service into this forum, I'm sure that you'll earn BTC in really fast way.

Yeah your right i am also clamer before and excited for many faucet to claim but i learn a lot here in our forum its not worth it right now to earn.. And there's other way to earn even you are just a newbie.. altcoin is there and they are always giving a bounties easy task and earn altcoin..that you can sell it in trading site once they release it in market places.. if you are lucky that altcoin has potencial to growth in the future you can make more profit with your altcoin..

Absolutely! - faucets are about the most un-scammy thing you can find in the Crypto world! You put in a wallet address Maybe solve a captcha Press a button And you usually get paid! What could be wrong with that? You may research alt-crypto currencies and see if you can get more by using their faucets and then trading into BTC.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll spend more time looking through the forums and learning up on Bitcoin. I'll limit my faucets to the ones that give ~1500 satoshi once a day so I can have some to experiment/play around with. I'll look at the altcoin ones as well ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

For me they aren't worth the time because I feel like I can get more from trading and signature campaign. It just depends on how much time you have to do them and whether you have other ways to earn bitcoin.

Or you could buy staking coins and play with staking them. Watch out, though. It's addictive!

Like others have rightly said. its not worth it though. But as a newbie you can still claim some free satoshi and risk them on learning the skills invovled in trading. After all if you loose, you loose nothing because it free anyway except the time spent.

Exactly that, they should be used by newbies to learn about bitcoin. Thats it, earning on it is impossible. You will earn a loooooooooooooot more money by traditional ways in same time.

In my opinion the first intention for faucets was to make lots of bitcoin transactions to speed up the mining process. nothing good can come from faucets except if you are a newbie and still not trusting to put any cash in bitcoin, so doing faucets would benefit you though remember not to rely on them for any income.
