Chinees people love to gamble so I am sure that they can make use of bitcoin gambling. China is ruling the bitcoin so they would gamble with it.

Gambling with Bitcoin is currently illegal in China, but I don't know if it's really enforced there.
Are there any Chinese Bitcoin gambling sites? Or would they also play on English sites?

Here's some info on the legal aspect:

Theoretically you are right but I think in China things are going a bit defferently, I think they even have Casinos and things like that in some places. Although the government of the country is communist they are trying to be as capitalist as possible.

It is misguided to ask, or even think, if something like gambling is 'illegal' in China, because China's 'legal system' is unlike anything you've likely experienced.

Something may be deemed 'illegal' or prohibited by the central government in Beijing, but if the provincial government in Yunnan wants to facilitate the gambling industry it will do so, carefully. I have lived and travelled throughout China, and I can tell you gambling takes place all over the country. Using Whatsapp I found NL Hold'em games in Shanghai, Beijing, ChongQing, Xiamen, Hangzhou ... basically everywhere I went. Even smaller cities had games. In one city card rooms were opening and holding tournaments. They got around the gambling aspect by requiring you to buy points, and to play for points. You could only cash out your points by buying gold bars - which of course were perfectly fungible. The room operators would introduce me to a guy, a regular player, who could buy my points for cash. Of course that was a 'private transaction' that protected the room. Months later when the central government made a show of cracking down on gambling, the local government shut these very public rooms as well, but the games continued in private apartments, arranged through word-of-mouth and Whatsapp.

Lots of Chinese poker players play poker on Chinese websites. They also play poker on Pokerstars of course. These websites might be blocked by the censors, but a committed gambler will find a way around that.

Ok i take the above for granted. So since a "commited" gambler must find a workaround to bypass the "blocked by the censors" sites , it definetely means that those sites are not considered legit for the chinese players, by the chinese government. Also if a gambler needs to gamble privately in private rooms and apartments,or he needs to be "introduced to some guy," or he must plan "gambling sessions" through Whatsapp, then im pretty sure that he can not do otherwise , meaning that he can not do it free and open -> meaning he cannot do it publicly -> meaning its not accepted by the governments rules -> so we can call it "regulated and not legal",thus we can call it illegal .

I think gambling is illegal in china, but there is a lot of hidden way to gamble, but still china has a really tight internet security, so its kind of difficult for the people to gamble using bitcoin legally

Fair to say nothing is 'legit' in China, least of all the government. Remember, the Chinese Communist Party came to power by stealing land and property from the ruling class. The CCP continues to loot the country to this day. Many ordinary Chinese understand this; in many ways they are just people like you and me. A couple more examples:

Particularly near the ubiquitous construction sites: in the evenings and holidays/weekends you will find construction workers playing 3-card poker openly on the sidewalks. I never saw police harass them, but the players do not want their pictures taken.

High stakes mahjong gambling is insane in some parts of the country. Cities in Sichuan shut down on the weekends so that everyone can play mahjong for money: they play openly in 'tea houses' that plainly exist to facilitate mahjong gambling, and bigger stakes are played, again, in private apartments run by individuals and syndicates.

For example, I met a woman who regularly lost US$10-30k each weekend playing mahjong. (Her family owned a brokerage, and she was an executive/principal).But she explained to me that she lost the money to her friends, who needed it more than her, so she saw it as a way to support her friends.

Gambling is rampant in China. Most gambling is live. The online gambling is heavily concentrated on sketchy, Chinese-only websites that a westerner would have difficulty finding.

That's a good idea. No doubt the Chinese Bitcoin online gambling is a huge market share that somebody could get in and dominate if they speak or have good Chinese translation. Even if it's not legal they can still play just fine.

I don't think this could be further from the truth. Gambling, in general, is illegal, but like the US, there are gambling hubs in China (Macao and Hong Kong), which behave similarly to Las Vegas. Gambling is deeply ingrained in the culture of China, there are also many opportunities to gamble in state run lotteries and other options.

I don't think people are poor in china as if so how they could have managed to buy bitcoin in such a volume that can effect global bitcoin trading. And also communism doesn't mean the people will be poor, it means the financial difference between the citizen will be lower, however i don't know this is true or not in case of china.

Yes this is not possible in China. Not only in china i any country the government will not allow us to open bitcoin casino because it is illegal currency. So once the govt accept this currency as legal then we can try there. But i am not sure that china people are that much poor because they are very intelligent guys in the world so they are poor means i can not believe.

Not every countries make bitcoin as illegal currency, only small number of country recognize bitcoin as an illegal currency . For reference look at this list  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_bitcoin_by_country . Several countries considered bitcoin as money but not legalized it. And in china itself it's prohibited but strangely a lot of bitcoinerr born on China, grow fast in china.  That's awesome china! They don't need to be legalized they just keep moving.

If bitcoin exchanges and regular casino gambling is accepted in China, then why wouldn't bitcoin gambling be accepted as well?

Why would China only "protect" its citizens from bitcoin gambling and not other forms of gambling? Well, I guess I could understand why China would "protect" its citizens just like the US "protects" its citizens - "Protecting" citizens basically means banning whatever it is they are "protecting" the people from until the government gets its cut of whatever it is.

Its actually surprising that China has all these restrictions specially when gambling sort of goes with their culture. I would also be surprised to here that they have bitcoin gambling sites banned as not a lot of traffic usually goes on those sites. Despite being illegal, people can have access to these sites without any issues.

Gambling is different from exchanges. Dollar exchanges are legal in US or other countries but not all gambling sites are. They are not making bitcoin illegal but the gambling which is illegal with or without bitcoin.

it is not about "bitcoin gambling" it is "gambling" that is illegal. and if i am not mistaken gambling is not allowed in the US and many other countries either.
and it doesn't matter with bitcoin because you can always use it because it is not like fiat that you have to use a bank that can block you, it is on yourself.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.

I think gambling in china using bitcoin is legal,

And another thing, who cares if they put an illegal note on it that gambling using bitcoins are illegal, First of all bitcoin are a decentralized currency, and are not controlled by any government treasury, and another thing, you can make your self anonymous to it because in bitcoins transactions or in ledger as what we call it, only wallet address are shown, so if you tried to change your locations to different countries like maybe using a tor then you cannot be traced easily, even with the feds.

One thing I wish for BTC now would be.. For it to be more renowned and used worldwide. Well it is now but I believe it can still go a long way. Like what you said, no really point to argue about it being legal or not etc.

I do not think that China has delivered its citizens to gamble looks like something that can be taken for common sense, I believe it is unlikely to happen.

Bitcoin is pretty known to me, my family and a lot of friends I have, but none of the reasons for knowing it are good. Most of them have heard of it in context of an illegal activity and a lot of them still think bitcoin as a whole is illegal. Media doesn't do a good job is portraying bitcoin as a good alternative. I actually asked a friend yestrday, and even he said he knows it as drug money, so definitely not a good reputation.

At this time I don't have any authentic news which shows China has allowed gambling with Bitcoin. There is still tight regulation even about Bitcoin in spite of all the recent price spike which is caused of Chinese money.Chinese investors don't represent government and government is not going to make gambling with Bitcoin legal soon.

Bitcoin is making its space in China easy by easy.I think Chinese elite class has realized that their capital is safer in Bitcoin and they have poured lot of money into Bitcoin.Once Bitcoin will be popular in China there will be no restriction or it will not be illegal anymore to gamble with it even in China. This will happen for sure in future sooner or later.

I did not hear it which is odd, since from what i know the biggest group of gamblers I've ever seen has been chinese. They seem to gamble if their lifedepends their life on it?
Very odd.

The last few weeks we have seen a lot of bitcoin volume in the market and its coming from China ('s economy problems Tongue) . So wouldnt it be a good idea for gambling sites to start providing the services to Chinas huge market also  ? I mean i dont really know any BTC casino doing it in china, only a few of them have it chinese-translated. Is it legal to gamble with bitcoin in china?

I am also hoping for it.

But as what I can see right now bitcoins do still have a long way before it depreciate or loss its value.

bitcoins are still not that known by most of people here in our country and to different countries out there and only the persons who regularly used an internet knows it, so you are right it still does have a good chance to become more popular as to what it is now.

In communist china bitcoin is probably illegal xP
They want total and complete control of their people. That is why china is a sweat shop country. I don't think having gambling in such an unedcuated country is a good idea though anyway.

yeah they are really accepting bitcoin but gambling is a very different thing and it has nothing to do with bitcoin and accepting it.

they may have accepted bitcoin and also they may have been very active in the bitcoin scene but gambling is not yet legal in their country.

Well this makes sense. This is very possible cause if you think about it. Every transaction in crypto are online and anonymous. It is not easy to trace sender and recipient.

yeah it is like this everywhere in the world.
there are many other countries that have laws against gambling and there are a couple of countries that even have laws against bitcoin.
but none of these matter since bitcoin is anonymous and anybody who wishes can use it as easy as possible.

Sorry to bump the old one here, we used a bunch of bitcointalk threads and a few advertisers info on countries allowed to find the best options for playing from China though.

There are plenty of provably fair casinos and anonymous options for players from China to play slots, baccarat, blackjack, poker and bet on sports.

https://www.cryptogamblingsites.com/gambling-country-guides/china-gambling-guide/

Between Stake, Cryptogames, Bitvest and Nitrogen Sports, there are at least faucet options and every game type available for gambling from China (assuming everyone is using VPN there).

Maybe some online gambling casinos that are not powered by any chinese organozation are the ones you can play with. Gambling is illegal in so many countries added that its also in the form of cryptocurrency where a lot of countries are banning it also. No law can stop an addict gambler though.

You have a point that gambling cannot be accepted in china because they prohibited bitcoin and other cryptopcurrencies in their country. But do you think online gambling is legal in china ?

Gambling is really originated from china and there are a lot of casinos in china that there are a lot of gamblers wants to go and play. But online gambling is not allowed china because it is considered as an illegal gambling, that is why it is impossible for you to play bitcoin gambling in china. But there are still online gambling sites that are in china that are not yet banned because they are not yet discovered by their government.

meaning to say that only onshore gambling got the approval of their government, I also understand that china is a communist country so the government controls everything, it will be difficult for bitcoin to be legalized as gamblers can easily use this platform to escape the taxes, maybe or possible that there's people there who already using it in a discreet manner afraid being caught.

How can you say that the current volume in bitcoin is from Chinese market ? I doubt this and also the volume in bitcoin is very low these days.

I am not sure if gambling is illegal in china. You need to provide some evidence to support your point of view. Anyways as an whole china will be the big hub of bitcoins.

How can you say that the current volume in bitcoin is from Chinese market ? I doubt this and also the volume in bitcoin is very low these days.

I am not sure if gambling is illegal in china. You need to provide some evidence to support your point of view. Anyways as an whole china will be the big hub of bitcoins.

It's not illegal but the chinese government obviously scorn things they can'y control. They do have big gambling hubs like in macau but these are heavily regulated by the chinese government. I don't think they'll take it easy on crypto gambling if ever.

I think bitcoin gambling is still not accepted in china because how would they buy bitcoin if it is illegal in china.

I am not sure this can be real, why only online gambling is banned when they legalized gambling?

Wikepedia says gambling is completely prohibited in China, source : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambling_in_China
Initially the large number of Bitcoins in the world had been mined in China but later on, China lashed back on the cryptocurrency banning some cryptocurrency exchanges. This was a sign of the start of the end and yes the trend is now way too down. I do not know hey did they do it. Since gambling is not legal, I do not think Bitcoin gambling would be allowed either.

Gambling and betting with fiat is restricted anywhere in China so obviously bitcoin gambling is also restricted. But if you are a person living in China I am pretty sure you can use a VPN to change your IP then acces a casino which accepts people worldwide and deposit your money using bitcoin. It's almost impossible to get caught and even if you are i don't think this is still illegal because you are gambling in a casino opened in a different country.

They have banned a lot of popular websites there and I have a cousin living there.

She's using this to gain access to the websites she used to visit so probably others are doing it too if its gambling related.

I don't think it is just simple as we saying since using of these kind of services to hife our information is also crime si when we get caught the punishment will be severe. We need to remember that most of the popular social media like facebook, youtube also banned in china.

They've got a crazy firewall blocking out sites. I'm not a teach wizard though so I'm unsure if Tor or certain VPN's can find a way around this.

People here will make up crap & guess but only Chinese bitcoin users would really know.
i hve some friends from china who personally doing gambling in bitcoin currency. they says that alot of people are doing it here in the same way.

Yes there are ways around it, however it is pretty advanced to be so big. It goes way beyond a simple DNS blocking like they do in Venezuela. Even Tor had problems bypassing it sometimes.

It's also cool that you know people from China, not that easy to communicate with them. I personally didn't meet anyone from there so far in the time i have using internet, at least not that i knew about it and that they spoke english.

Those are the websites that I'm saying that before she access to those sites.

I'm not very familiar with their regulations about accessing to websites and using VPN's so I have no idea what are or if there's a sanction.

which I know is only in Macau, the only place in china that gambling is legalized. besides that place, I think there are certain rules such as prohibitions..

I'm pretty sure its been made illegal. China is a communist country and the people living there are very poor so the government wants to "protect the people"
great till I don't know Bitcoin was accepted for gambling in China but after reading this topic I realise that it will be very important for the people of the country to make their life more peaceful.

Macau isn't a city or location within China. It is a separate location and this is mentioned as the Vegas of Asia. People who doesn't afford to spend traveling to Vegas can prefer spending on Macau. China hasn't revealed any information regarding the support on gambling from governments.

China is well known country by following the counties way and culture traditions.
I saw couple of first comments and didn't see any word from insider. And I may conclude that in the case when crypto trading is blocked in the country then crypto gambling also should not to be supported.

yes gambling will not fully legalized in the country there are certain rules will also be followed by the government to be gamble but there are some good news also been there if it was been in the starting stage there is a lots of possibilities to accept gambling completely in the future for that I definitely support this.

yes gambling will not fully legalized in the country there are certain rules will also be followed by the government to be gamble but there are some good news also been there if it was been in the starting stage there is a lots of possibilities to accept gambling completely in the future for that I definitely support this.

china is a strict country with so many rules implemented by their governments  .  im also aware that they have stricker access to websites online  , even if we use vpn or ip changers  there is a high chance that they might not work  but i dont think that gambling is totally ban on thier country .  we all know that china is a maker of chinese games and other casino based gambling  . so why would they ban thier own creations  . ?

The last few weeks we have seen a lot of bitcoin volume in the market and its coming from China ('s economy problems Tongue) . So wouldnt it be a good idea for gambling sites to start providing the services to Chinas huge market also  ? I mean i dont really know any BTC casino doing it in china, only a few of them have it chinese-translated. Is it legal to gamble with bitcoin in china?

They've got a crazy firewall blocking out sites. I'm not a teach wizard though so I'm unsure if Tor or certain VPN's can find a way around this.

People here will make up crap & guess but only Chinese bitcoin users would really know.
i hve some friends from china who personally doing gambling in bitcoin currency. they says that alot of people are doing it here in the same way.

China has everything developed within their country. Even the search engines and other social media services. By this surely China won't allow gambling within the country. Possibly Macau being under their constitution, people who prefer to gamble might go around and have fun. Possibly large scale investors of bitcoin were there in China and they set their products launched from other crypto friendly countries.

Gambling is legal now for almost every country and the same we are able to see in china, as you said china is at the top for being well developed country and to be famous for accepting new technologies, I have heard about some casinos in china playing with bitcoin so it shows clearly bitcoin gambling in china is legal now.

I think that is also the reason why they strictly prohibited to use cryptocurrency in China as trading there because they think that is gambling because of the risk that possibly happens. No doubt that they consider as illegal gambling like a lottery, betting, and those cards games. But yes in Macau have a gambling casino that people usually go there to gamble.

I also had some news about Bitcoin will be legal in China for using gambling I seen this change as a good for the development of China and it good helpful for their economic to the higher in quicktime because they accept the Bitcoin for some reasons if it was work then there will be more powerful in short time.

Bitcoin is legal in China no doubt in it, China is founder of Bitcoin. So it is not a strange thing that bitcoin will be acceptable in gambling in there. China is hardworking country and economic wise it is really powerful and in this wise, i am sure bitcoin definitely accepted in gambling In China.

I think in developed countries, many have received gambling as a legal activity, and the state gets a tax commission from there as a guarantee of security. it will be profitable  Wink

Maybe in real life, we don't know. But online, I think bitcoin gambling is accepted in China and not just in China, the other country is accepted too. We don't know if that is true or not until we visit in China and search about bitcoin gambling and share what we found here. But for sure, bitcoin gambling on the internet was already accepted in many countries because I see that people can play gambling online.

Chinese governments is a communist governments and that makes it difficult for casino gambling to be play over there from outside.  I know China has a large market but because of their laws it is very difficult to sell your gambling idea to them.

China has played a big role in the development of cryptocurrency all around the world. In the early days of bitcoin if there is no support now bitcoin could have never reached such a level of acceptance and growth. China being a investment driven economy, rather than implementing gambling websites they invest on the same.

The Chinese people might be the one behind the creation of some  gambling company which are in Macau and they might also run an operate an online gambling site but I'm sure it wont be on their country soil because the government arrested 540 people last year and we both know that they know how to force people to their law.

Yes they are and it was confirmed several times, some local police have raided Chinese run gambling casinos operating targetting Chinese clients and they operate outside of China, one example is the series of raids in Clark in THE Philippines.

Ask you frieend is gambling legal in their country? if they use bitcoin, of course there is something that makes them have to play gambling in online,
which I know is only in Macau, the only place in china that gambling is legalized. besides that place, I think there are certain rules such as prohibitions..
No, it is not legal in China. Not all the gamblers in China gamble legally. Very few people gamble in the main city’s casinos like in Macao. But government does have their regulations and gamblers in one place may not mean it is legal. I think that China is coming very hard at crypto currency.

They have very strict monetary policies and do not compromise on the value and importance of their currency. But it is flourishing in other countries.
Gambling is not allowed in china but the government of china does not consider lotteries as gambling.
You can have a good research and you will find out many online gambling sites in Chinese transcription that accepts bitcoin and other crypto currencies. There are so many gambling games and lotteries.

But in Hong Kong people gamble. They only consider it illegal when one bets with a bookmark or betting in a place that is different from the established gambling place which is the Hong Kong jockey club.

So many Chinese people are engaged in gambling look at casinos in Macau and Hongkong they are being run by Chinese and every country that has a casino on it expect a Chinese casino operator, in fact in they operate online Gambling and casino in some countries like the Philippines.

I've seen this news as well about Chinese nationals is being arrested due to illegal online gambling operation which do most likely target out Chinese clients.

Bitcoin is legal in China no doubt in it, China is founder of Bitcoin.

Chinese governments is a communist governments and that makes it difficult for casino gambling to be play over there from outside.  I know China has a large market but because of their laws it is very difficult to sell your gambling idea to them.
This is why they have Macau which is very close to Las Vegas, USA. They do gamble a lot in Macau, making Macau to have one of the largest casinos in the world. I think there are a lot of people there aside Chines nationals since it's already a tourist attraction for everybody.

He thinks that china is the founder of bitcoin because of the name satoshi nakamoto that sounds like a chinese but satoshi is actually born on the usa . bitcoin on the other hand is not illegal on china

Only illegal type of gambling are being arrested and not allowed on china while legal form of gambling are still allowed , so there is nothing to worry about . this topic is only a false alarm  .

Rules will be followed by strictly by Chinese governments so when they had banned gambling then they will never allow any gambling activities from their country. But we need to remember the fact all the Chinese people living outside China were from China originally there are many Asian countries also have Chinese people where they had migrated from centuries like Sinapore,Malaysia and many small countries.

If its illegal to them then it would be better if they follow the authorities and law in their country because it will be more dangerous if they still force themselves to gamble. Well they need to accept it because there are some countries that don't accept bitcoin gambling and rather than trying it they should find other things that can help them entertain themselves and help them to earn money. I know that bitcoin casino are quite popular these days and many people are getting interested about it well its because they provide the best for their players like on this bitcoin casino they provide variety of gaming games like slots, poker, blackjack and roulette aside from that they will never fail your expectation when it comes to free bonuses. Before trying it I search for some information like some reviews about it because I want to make sure that it is not a scam site well its not because most of the feedbacks are positive. If its banned or illegal in your country then just obey the authorities because its for your own good too.
Some gamblers can be very desperate and its really funny. A country declares gambling with Bitcoin and some people still find a way to gamble secretly knowing how tough china government can be. There was a time the entire china citizens were banned from using watsapp chat application and the order stayed. China is a no nonsense country and they do not tolerate, so those of them who gamble secretly should be prepared to face the law when they are caught.

Thank God I come from a country where there is no restriction to gambling and I can gamble with any coin of my choice, I’ve been gambling with Bitcoin and I have to be honest to say that it’s the best of them all. I am truly having fun.

It might be illegal for them, that must be one of the reasons why there are illegal-online gambling operators that are operating in our country which is owned by Chinese people. Our country is not that strict in gambling, as long as you are at the legal age, gambling will won't be illegal, that is why there are a lot of gamblers here.

I think its not fully illegal but if there's a law about this then you must stop playing if you're in China.
In the past days they are trying to destroy cryptocurrency and I think they are still on the resistance level to accept cryptocurrency. I can also play online anytime i want, and I really love my country for being supportive like this.

Now it is 2019, we've crossed three years from the day the thread has got created to know about the stand of China on gambling with bitcoin. In this three years time lot many changes could've taken place with bitcoin and the gambling in China. I believe there is gambling house with bitcoin acceptance and those were operational under high risk as China doesn't allow bitcoin fearing its loss in the money value of Chinese Yuan.

China is not banning bitcoin so it will be alright for the chinese people to acquire bitcoin as an asset or investment. The only thing that tye chinese government does not want are those ICO projects and the airdropping of coins for the Chinese government has consider this as a scam. Yeah most of the ICO projects does failed and others look so shady. Some are will just list the coin and then dump the project.

This is considered a crime in China and people tend to be very careful about it because the penalty could be very severe. In china, cryptocurrency is banned, ICO is banned and Bitcoin mining is purely banned. They have been very strict towards this thing and make sure people do not loose money in activities that on the whole incur loss to the economy. There are however some casinos in Macau for those who pay the highest tax.

Even mining, China banned it. So, expect that gambling will also be a center for banning of China. Since Chine treat cryptocurrency as a threat to their economy. But there are Chinese national in my country that is using cryptocurrency even in a crime. I think the citizens want it but the government does not want crypto or gambling to exist in their country.

Legal or illegal, they can just use vpn (like they use it to bypass telegram restriction), most gambling sites don't require kyc so nothing to worry there.

They are business minded person, and government restriction can't stop their business so they look for our country where they can operate freely.
No one would leave gambling as a business as it's a very lucrative way of making money.

^ If I did not mistake, HongKong is still part of China which is the gambling industry is strictly prohibited by the Chinese government. Gambling and cryptocurrency are still not allowed in China but if you want to gamble that near in Chinese country you can go there in Macau which have the largest gambling industry near in China and most Chinese people that want to gamble they go there.

They are good in doing business like this creating games and make it very competitive not sure if they have that venue where bitcoin is already been accepted but since there's a lots of available gambling business where china mostly dealing with maybe there's already some that exist.

I believe that the activities of many Chinese in the cryptocurrency market, as well as in the gambling market, are really rewarded with very high incomes, since the Chinese government is very hard on punishing lawbreakers, especially when it comes to economic crimes.

As far as I know China not allow online gambling although I don't have source news. Since bitcoin isn't traceable if don't know who own the address perhaps China people's would use VPN. And I believe most of legit crypto-currency gambling doesn't ask for KYC. So China player can get benefits of it.

Here in our country, we have many Chinese gambling operators, it seems illegal in their country, but they operate it in a country like ours, Chinese are good in creating a lot of gambling sites online and I 'm pretty sure that they are also accepting and creating Bitcoin gambling sites, just look at Justin Sun's Tron.

They are business minded person, and government restriction can't stop their business so they look for our country where they can operate freely.
No one would leave gambling as a business as it's a very lucrative way of making money.
Yes you are right in gambling this has allot of income for the country so this is the reason why I always like gambling it is not only in for a nation but this is success of entire country. China is good county which never get back from adoption of New technologies so the same gambling is being famous all over the world.

Maybe bitcoin gambling doesn't accept in China, but I think Chinese people still using bitcoin for playing gambling and they will use VPN to visit on the site. We don't know for sure, but with the easy connection from VPN, I am sure that people in China will use the VPN to access the site and that happens too with the other people in another country.

As far as I know China not allow online gambling although I don't have source news. Since bitcoin isn't traceable if don't know who own the address perhaps China people's would use VPN. And I believe most of legit crypto-currency gambling doesn't ask for KYC. So China player can get benefits of it.

Many people are of point of view that it does not matter if a country government allow or disallow gambling but they maybe wrong.
If the gambling is not allowed in china or any country, people may still play online gambling using proxies and vpn but they will not be able to run a gambling site or business.

Lots of Chinese poker players play poker on Chinese websites. They also play poker on Pokerstars of course. These websites might be blocked by the censors, but a committed gambler will find a way around that.

haha that's how when the rules are too strict for the people, they will continue to find solutions to what they enjoy. Similar to the bitcoin gambling sites circulating in China, the government must have blocked these sites. But they (gambling lovers) have various ways to access the site, even the government cannot track them.

And I believe most of legit crypto-currency gambling doesn't ask for KYC. So China player can get benefits of it.

And maybe gambling in China will really stop if the Chinese government makes rules as strict as in the US and India. Well, that would make the gambler's feelings tremble and afraid to gamble again. I also think that sooner or later the Chinese government will enforce rules like its rival countries.

I'm pretty sure its been made illegal. China is a communist country and the people living there are very poor so the government wants to "protect the people"

Are you sure about this thing? China is one of the biggest percentage average in terms of Bitcoin mining farm in the entire world.

It maybe possible that gambling is illegal but I doubt that most people there in China are poor, I'm not agree on this matter.

Gambling seems to be getting restricted even more now, just 3 years from OP. The CCP is trying to "wean" off Macau from gambling (which pretty much has been the city's source of income). We can see the trend with Chinese gambling site operators moving to Southeast Asia and operate their business from there but this is apparently illegal.

Or just gamblers in general going abroad just to play that it has now become a trend for some Chinese to offer loans to their countrymen abroad and then kidnapping them when they can't pay up and sending a video of them being beaten up to relatives to ask for ransom. If even regular gambling is acceptable, these people wouldn't be risking going abroad just to play.

So basically, yes the gamblers might find bitcoin gambling acceptable while the CCP don't, no matter what currency is used.

Lottery is still gambling I guess.
Maybe gambling is tightly controlled over there or something.

I know that Chinese has a lot of gambling-type games so it won't be a surprised if they have bitcoin gambling games. It might be illegal but I think a lot of them are into it. The government can't totally control such situations. Underworld is always there and you can find all sorts of gambling in that area.

They are the leader in operating Bitcoin gambling, in fact here in our country there are so many Chinese immigrants or tourist employed or running an overseas online Bitcoin gaming, I tend to believe that it's legal because how can they run a lot of online gambling sites, if these are illegal in their home town.

They are smart, they operate in a country where their business is safe.
This would also benefit your country because this online casinos will attract lots of gamblers that would result to operators paying big taxes.

I think online gambling can't be stop as long as all countries are not banning it, and this would not also stop gamblers from playing especially now that we have an option to play in a crypto gambling sites which is allows us to be anonymous.

I am sure that China is a country that legalizes bitcoin gambling even though its government does not have rules for gambling in the form of bitcoin, I have this view because I see how the biggest mining sites even producing bitcoin add-ons prohibit bitcoin gambling.

There are still ways for them to gamble for sure, but I don't think the whole gambling there is illegal aside from cryptogambling. China recently are making good move for cryptocurrency, I hope it will continue until they make things legal again. Gambling are very huge in China because we know Macau is a great place for them to gamble so I believe they will still support the online gambling, maybe they still need to regulate it.

Maybe China has not banned gambling, but bitcoin gambling is something new, and the gambling itself connected to the internet, so perhaps there is a regulated or something like that. But even if bitcoin gambling is banned in China, I guess people will use VPN to visit on the gambling website, and they can play gambling. Besides that, I think people in China will search the gambling website, which doesn't ask for KYC to prevent the government from investigating their account.

I think it's prohibited to do bitcoin gambling in china but I don't know if bitcoin is banned there. If they know how to use vpn there then imo they can do bitcoin gambling there. It is more convenient and you can gamble anywhere and anytime you want.

Once gambling is ban, it's ban whatever resources you are using to gamble.
AFAIK, bitcoin is not ban in china, and in fact these days, there are already good news about bitcoin in china to which they already regulate bitcoin and consider it as properly.

Here's the latest news :

There's a lot of websites that are banned on China.

About the bitcoin ban, around 2017 when the news about ICO banned came in to the news and then another rumor started that they've just banned bitcoin. And that made everyone believed that bitcoin is banned but AFAIK bitcoin isn't ban but just regulated by PBoC.

Once gambling is ban, it's ban whatever resources you are using to gamble.
AFAIK, bitcoin is not ban in china, and in fact these days, there are already good news about bitcoin in china to which they already regulate bitcoin and consider it as properly.

Here's the latest news :

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-is-property-chinese-court-rules-no-crypto-ban-contradiction
There isn't any ban on gambling in China. I believe gambling is not that popular in China, which is why there is not much of gambling sites from China. Chinese people used to show interest on various other entertainment and sports activities than spending on gambling. Bitcoin in China over the past was experiencing some ban issue and now little by little regulation is taking effect.

Nevertheless, I still doubt that the Chinese government will be able to completely ban cryptocurrencies in their country.  Until now, only statements are heard, but they are not of any harsh nature to frighten Chinese users of cryptocurrency.  It is in India that they promise criminal liability for the use of cryptocurrency, Ag in China does not.  But as for gambling, it is very strict about this in China.  And I very much doubt that such games will be legal.

I never have heard about it I am sure China did not ban gambling because fair and good gambling has no bad effect on the economical state of the country so gambling is not ban don’t put any doubt or there are only few people are there who gamble with people in China. I like to gamble with my friends who lives in China.

There isn't any ban on gambling in China.

It's illegal except in Macau

http://www.ecns.cn/news/2019-07-31/detail-ifzmnmiq8702463.shtml

https://en.vietnamplus.vn/related-parties-in-chineseled-gambling-ring-to-be-investigated/157137.vnp

I believe gambling is not that popular in China, which is why there is not much of gambling sites from China. Chinese people used to show interest on various other entertainment and sports activities than spending on gambling.

Macau has 2-3 times the amount of gambling revenue as America does lol

One of their largest operators is accused of offering online gambling to people in China using underground banking networks

https://www.scmp.com/business/companies/article/3018498/macau-junket-operator-suncity-vows-stop-extending-online-betting

Quote
The annual amount bet through online gambling in the mainland is more than 1 trillion yuan (US$145 billion), equivalent to nearly twice the annual income of China’s lottery,” Econ omic Information Daily said

For anyone who is still unaware that Chinese gambling is huge

https://www.asgam.com/index.php/2019/08/01/macau-ggr-disappoints-with-3-5-decline-in-july-on-vip-concerns/

Quote
Macau recorded a 3.5% year-on-year decline in gross gaming revenue to MOP$24.45 billion (US$3.01 billion) in July

3 Billion US dollars gambled in a month and it's lower than expected  Shocked

There are plenty of Chinese gambling sites accepting bitcoin that people are using with proxy or tor browser.

Online gambling with bitcoin is not always the best idea though, you can hodl and watch your bitcoin increase in value with very little risk and zero effort  Cool

Gambling is pretty much illegal in MOST of China. The only territories that have gambling is Hong Kong (just a little here) and Macau (the big one). Online gambling is the same, whether fiat or crypto, that's why Chinese online casinos operate outside, usually in SE Asia.

Now whether the gamblers are OK with it, it seems that they're fine. I suppose there's less money trail when gambling using bitcoins and online is their only way to gamble unless they travel to HK or Macau.

As far as I know China not allow online gambling although I don't have source news. Since bitcoin isn't traceable if don't know who own the address perhaps China people's would use VPN. And I believe most of legit crypto-currency gambling doesn't ask for KYC. So China player can get benefits of it.

I don't think gambling is totally banned in China. Lottery especially, is kind of legal in parts of the country https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambling_in_China
Lottery is still gambling I guess.
Maybe gambling is tightly controlled over there or something.

China has actually officially banned gambling for its citizens and anyone involved in gambling will deal with the law. For the lottery itself, it may still be legalized because the Chinese government does not consider lotteries as a form of gambling such as mahjong, poker, etc. Well this is a different perspective about the lottery between us and the Chinese government.

But the Chinese government still prohibits all gambling activities, especially online gambling such as poker, casinos etc. For more details, please refer to some laws on gambling in China: http://www.china.org.cn/china/LegislationsForm2001-2010/2011-02/11/content_21899017.htm

From what I read China legalizes gambling, sports betting and similar casinos but with the condition that it is not online gambling and poker,

It is not up to the casino. The casinos can provide services to the people in China, but if online gambling with bitcoin is illegal in China, then those Chinese people will be in trouble for breaking their countries law by playing on those casino. The government might also end up blocking access to the site from their country. China is a country where everything is strictly regulated. I don't think the people will risk themselves playing on an online bitcoin casino.

it is still up to the casino because they will follow the rules and wont start a gambling business if ever gambling is restricted on that country

if online gambling with bitcoin is illegal in China,
only online gambling  ? or only bitcoin gambling  is illegal ? if it is , then they can still play a gambling offline or play a gambling that dont uses a bitcoin  .

Its probably not much different to any country which bans gambling, Pakistan  bans gambling due to religious reasons but again there is large amount of gambling so big it makes headlines in countries thousands of miles away because they are paying players to make certain scores for the bets to pay off.
Its just a massive underground industry that is handled by people hand to hand rather then officially, government cant really ban anything without the cooperation of the people.   The tales of soviet russia banning all sorts of things is legendary and they just carried on in a black market.

Communism doesnt allow capitalism yet the government allows some form of it to benefit officials, you are never really an owner of anything except by the blessing of your local political heads.   They have a strange system of arbitrary rules to somehow allow many things that have various bans or support, I doubt its ever completely clear to an outsider.
Bitcoin can only help in such situations to facilitate freer flow of capital outside physical confiscation and disruption.

I doubt if Bitcoin gambling is accepted in China, so no.  This doesn't mean Chinese people do not gamble illegally with BTC using VPN.  The government can only place a ban, but if the gambling site doesn't require KYC, then Chinese can participate.

I also have no such evidence about it China is good country which has all the facilities and also it is  on progress. Crypto is applicable over there for all reasons same as for gambling. I am sure after few years China will become the best crypto gambling country as much casino and gambling spots are accepting it.

For me, yes Chinese people can still do gamble illegally with BTC using VPN to make sure that they can't be tracked. But the Chinese government just prohibited mining BTC on their state. If Chinese people want to gamble in another crypto web, especially that that web is not in the territory of China and including the no KYC, I think they still have the rights. Smiley
That’s it because VPN can hide us from being detected and this same reason why most of the gamblers from other countries uses this as well
And there are many sites that requires no KYC for their players but ofcourse we must look for the legit sites since some gambling sites now are not imposing the KyC when we are inquiring but if we get the jackpot or other high winnings they will ask or KyC before withdrawal.
So be aware of those issues for you to be safe specially Chinese people
